On the afternoon of June 9, the Vietnamese team had a practice session to get acquainted with Bukit Jalil Stadium - where the confrontation with host Malaysia will take place in the second match of Group F of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup taking place tomorrow evening (June 10).
This is a modern stadium with a capacity of 90,000 seats, known as the "fire pan" not only in Malaysia but also in Southeast Asia.
The current Vietnam team does not have many players who can clearly understand how great the pressure is to compete at Bukit Jalil if the "fire pan" of Bukit Jalil is filled.
Specifically, only Tien Linh, Quang Hai, Duy Manh and Bui Tien Dung experienced the stressful atmosphere here in the first leg of the 2018 AFF Cup final (the predecessor of the current ASEAN Cup).
At that time, Bukit Jalil Stadium welcomed 88,482 spectators. The Vietnamese team led by coach Park Hang Seo led 2-0 but eventually let Malaysia equalize 2-2.

Coach Kim Sang Sik, Hoang Duc, Hai Long, Duy Manh, and Nguyen Van Vi also had the opportunity to experience Bukit Jalil Stadium in the friendly match between the Southeast Asian All-Star team and Man United Club at the end of May.
But the level of enthusiasm of the audience in this match cannot be compared to when the Malaysian and Vietnamese teams directly confront each other.
"The audience here is very enthusiastic. We understand the heat, will try to endure the pressure, stay as calm as possible to complete the task," captain Duy Manh shared.
In addition to instructing his players to play with concentration in tomorrow's match, Coach Kim Sang Sik made the most of the practice session at Bukit Jalil Stadium to assemble the starting lineup and deploy tactics for the match.
Malaysia is considered the toughest opponent in Southeast Asia since coach Kim Sang Sik took office, due to having many naturalized players.
Therefore, the Korean coach, in addition to improving the scoring ability of the attack, also focuses on building a solid defense for the Vietnamese team, thereby aiming for the best results.
