According to Lao Cai Province's Hydrometeorological Station, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 15, Bao Yen and Bac Ha districts had rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain in some places: Thuong Ha 63.6 mm, Yen Son 41.0 mm, Tan Duong 36.2 mm, Xuan Thuong (Bao Yen) 26.8 mm; Lung Phinh (Bac Ha) 32.4 mm... the remaining areas had moderate and light rain.
Soil moisture model shows that some areas in districts: Bac Ha, Bat Xat, Bao Yen have soil moisture above 60%.
Areas at risk of flash floods and landslides include: Thuong Ha, Dien Quan, Bao Ha, Kim Son, Xuan Hoa, Yen Son, Xuan Thuong, Tan Tien, Pho Rang, Dien Quan, Kim Son, Vinh Yen (Bao Yen); Nam Luc, Ban Cai, Nam Mon, Thai Giang Pho (Bac Ha); Ban Lau, Nam Chay, Nam Lu, Tung Chung Pho, Lung Khau Nhin (Muong Khuong); Ban Qua, Bat Xat town, Coc Ly, Phin Ngan, Trung Leng Ho (Bat Xat).
Warning: In the next 6 hours, the above districts will continue to have rain; accumulated rainfall in Bat Xat, Bac Ha, Bao Yen, Van Ban, Muong Khuong is generally from 10 - 30 mm, in some places over 50 mm.
Due to the impact of local heavy rain, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on steep slopes, land subsidence in the districts of Bat Xat, Bac Ha, Bao Yen, Van Ban, Muong Khuong; flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, streams, urban areas of districts and towns.
To ensure safety, people need to pay special attention when moving through streams and overflowing culverts during times of heavy rain or when water is rising and flowing rapidly.
