Ancient banyan tree uprooted, crushed car in heavy rain in Lam Dong

(Dan Tri) - Heavy rain and strong winds in Lam Dong caused an ancient banyan tree to fall onto the road, crushing a truck.

At around 5:30 p.m. on March 16, heavy rain and strong winds appeared in Phuoc Cat town, Da Huoai district, Lam Dong province. Two 15-meter-tall ancient banyan trees in residential group 5, Phuoc Cat town were blown down by the wind.

At the scene, one of the two banyan trees fell and crushed a truck parked on the side of the road.

Upon receiving the news, the authorities were present and coordinated with local people to cut down trees and clear traffic.

At 6:40 p.m. the same day, the truck was hit by a tree, slightly damaged and was removed from the scene.

At the time the tree fell on the car, the driver was not in the cabin so he was not affected.

Heavy rain and strong winds swept through Phuoc Cat town in the afternoon of the same day, causing many other trees on the roads to fall, affecting traffic.
