On the morning of March 27, the central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the USD continued to increase slightly. The State Bank announced the new exchange rate at 24,851 VND/USD, an increase of 4 VND compared to yesterday.
The USD exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam is currently recorded at 23,659 VND for buying and 26,043 VND for selling.
The euro exchange rate decreased slightly, trading at 25,456 - 28,135 VND. The Japanese yen exchange rate also decreased, fluctuating from 157 to 174 VND.

In the international market, the greenback is recovering strongly. The USD Index - a measure of the strength of the USD compared to six major currencies - increased by 0.48% to 104.67 points. This is the highest level in the past three weeks.
The US dollar rose as the market awaited new announcements from US President Donald Trump on tax policies, especially tariffs on imported cars and a “reciprocal” tariff package expected to be announced on April 2.
Mr. Neel Kashkari – President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis – warned that these tax policies could increase prices or slow growth, thereby creating pressure on the FED to cut interest rates to stimulate demand.
The euro continued to weaken, falling 0.32% to $1.0757, its lowest level since March 5. This was also the sixth consecutive day of decline for the common European currency against the USD.
Similarly, the Japanese yen depreciated 0.42% to 150.5 yen per dollar. Although the Bank of Japan has raised interest rates, analysts say the country may continue to raise interest rates in July as inflation continues to rise, supported by stable wages.
The pound also fell to a two-week low as new data showed UK inflation was cooling to 2.8% in February. The Australian dollar was also down, trading at $0.6292.
