The Vietnam U19 team arrived at Gelora 10 November Stadium (Indonesia) to prepare for the "decisive" match with Australia U19 at the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship taking place at 3:00 p.m. today (July 21). The Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) and the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship have approved the proposal of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to allow the Vietnam U19 team to observe a minute of silence and wear a mourning armband on their chest to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong before the match against Australia U19.

Before the match, Coach Hua Hien Vinh and the players had a technical meeting to plan the lineup and tactics for the match. The whole team was determined and united to achieve the best results, thereby opening up the opportunity to compete for a ticket to the semi-finals. In the opening match, the U19 Vietnam team only drew 1-1 with U19 Myanmar, while U19 Australia beat U19 Laos 6-0. This means that Coach Hua Hien Vinh and his players must win against U19 Australia to open up the opportunity to compete for the top spot in the group.

This is not an easy task. At the U19 level, young Australian players are always considered stronger than other teams of the same age group in Southeast Asia.
