Vietnam U20 women's team has a great start in the Asian qualifiers

VHO - On the evening of August 6 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi), the Vietnam U20 women's team won a resounding 5-0 victory over Singapore in Group B of the 2026 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers.

In this group, the Vietnamese U20 women's team will play against opponents Kyrgyzstan, Hong Kong (China) and Singapore from August 6 to 10.

In the qualifying round, the group winners and the three best runners-up will join the host team Thailand to form the top 12 teams participating in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship.

At home, the Vietnam U20 women's team received cheers from the stands of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

It was the great source of spiritual encouragement that helped the young girls have high excitement in the confrontation with the Singapore U20 women's team.

Right in the 15th minute, taking advantage of a poor block from the opposing defender, Thuc Nghi scored a tricky shot in the penalty area to open the score for the Vietnam U20 women's team.

Right at the beginning of the second half, the goal to double the gap came early for U20 women of Vietnam. Y Za Luong eliminated the defender of U20 women of Singapore before finishing diagonally to score.

Just 2 minutes later, Luu Hoang Van made a great breakthrough and passed to Thao Nguyen to shoot into the empty net, widening the gap to 3 goals.

At this point, the game became easier for the U20 Vietnam women's team. However, the strikers did not take advantage of their opportunities.

It was not until the last minutes of the second half that Nguyen Thi Thuong and Ca Thi Phuong scored consecutively to secure a 5-0 victory for the Vietnam U20 women's team.

After the first round of matches, Vietnam U20 women's team leads the rankings thanks to a better goal difference than Hong Kong, who beat Kyrgyzstan 2-1.

In the second match taking place on August 8, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will face the Hong Kong U20 women's team.
