Before entering the semi-finals of the 2 men's football events of the 32nd SEA Games, U22 Thailand was rated much higher than U22 Myanmar.
In the 3rd minute, U22 Thailand had a situation that threatened the opponent's goal. Yosakorn Burapha had a dangerous shot but unfortunately the ball hit the goal post of U22 Myanmar.
However, coach Feichtenbeiner's team proved that it was no coincidence that this team won the right to enter the semi-finals. The players of U22 Myanmar played disciplined and limited the opponent's playing space.
It was not until the 36th minute that the defending SEA Games runners-up scored a goal. From a free kick outside the penalty area, Teerasak Peephimai broke the offside trap and headed the ball into the net of U22 Myanmar, opening the score for U22 Thailand.
U22 Thailand opened the scoring thanks to Teerasak.
In the second half, U22 Myanmar were more proactive in finding an equalizer. In the 55th minute, Kaung Htet Paing was fouled right near the penalty area. However, Hein Htet Aung's free kick was too weak and could not defeat the U22 Thailand goalkeeper.
In the following minutes, despite great efforts, coach Feichtenbeiner's students could not shake the opponent's net.
While U22 Myanmar still could not find an equalizer, the "War Elephants" doubled the gap. In the 86th minute, substitute Leon had a close-range shot, raising the score to 2-0 for U22 Thailand. Before the match ended, U22 Thailand had another goal thanks to Anan.
With a 3-0 victory, U22 Thailand will advance to the final match against U22 Indonesia. Meanwhile, U22 Myanmar will face U22 Vietnam in the match for the Bronze Medal of the 32nd SEA Games men's football.
