Right from the first minutes, U22 Vietnam showed initiative in implementing their playing style. In the 9th minute, midfielder Khuat Van Khang opened the score with a beautiful free kick outside the penalty area.
However, just 5 minutes later, the away team equalized, creating a balanced match for the rest of the first half.
In the second half, U22 Vietnam continued to maintain pressure and in the 55th minute, striker Nguyen Quoc Viet scored, sealing a 2-1 victory for the home team.
In this match, coach Kim Sang-sik also took full advantage of the opportunity to experiment and evaluate personnel.
Previously, in the first practice match between the two teams on July 2, U22 Vietnam showed superior strength with a 5-0 victory.
The goals were scored by Phi Hoang, Van Truong, Quoc Viet, Van Thuan and Viktor Le.
According to plan, U22 Vietnam will continue to train in Ho Chi Minh City until July 13, before moving to Indonesia on the morning of July 14 to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
The two practice matches with U22 Chinese Taipei are an important rehearsal step to help coach Kim Sang-sik and the coaching staff review, evaluate the team's strength and shape the main framework for the journey to defend the U23 Southeast Asian championship.
