Since coach Kim Sang Sik took over, in addition to winning the ASEAN Cup with the Vietnamese team, the U23 Vietnam team has also been reaping great success by winning a ticket to the U23 Asian Cup finals for the 6th consecutive time as well as successfully defending the regional championship title.

Not only reaping achievements, the playing style of U23 Vietnam, although not really perfect (especially in scoring efficiency), is also considered quite modern and diverse.

It is thanks to being given the opportunity to continuously compete in major tournaments, from SEA Games, Asiad, World Cup qualifiers to Asian Cup, that helps these players accumulate international experience, as well as hone their steadfast competitive spirit and rare confidence at their age.

Mr. Kim Sang Sik came and breathed new life into U23 Vietnam, helping the team fly high with impressive achievements. But to have a solid foundation for those successes, we cannot help but remember the efforts of the "white wizard" Troussier, who accepted the risk to nurture a generation that is and will be the future of Vietnamese football.
