The news that has caused a stir in the Vietnamese beauty community has just been announced by the Miss Universe Vietnam Organizing Committee when Miss Transgender Huong Giang will represent Vietnam to participate in Miss Universe 2025.
Huong Giang's real name is Nguyen Ngoc Hieu, born in 1991 in Hanoi, and was crowned Miss International Queen 2018 in Thailand.
Before conquering the international arena, Huong Giang had a long journey in the Vietnamese entertainment industry. She participated in the Vietnam Idol 2012 program. After that, Huong Giang continuously made her mark as a singer, actress, MC and producer. In particular, she was a judge and producer of Miss International Queen Vietnam, a beauty pageant for transgender people, contributing to raising awareness and support for the LGBTQ+ community in Vietnam.
With the change in Miss Universe regulations, allowing transgender contestants to participate, Huong Giang brings with her hope and mission to inspire diversity and inclusion.
To prepare for Miss Universe 2025, Huong Giang is actively practicing her catwalk skills, behavior and knowledge of social and environmental issues - topics often mentioned in Miss Universe competitions. She is also supported by a team of leading experts in fashion , makeup and fitness trainers to ensure the most perfect image when appearing on the international stage.
Besides, she also received support from colleagues in the industry such as Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Ngoc Chau and runner-up Huong Ly, who have experience in international competitions.
Miss Universe 2025 is scheduled to take place later this year at a yet-to-be-announced location.
