During the series of activities welcoming the Miss Universe 2025 contestants in Thailand, Huong Giang - Vietnam's representative suddenly became the center of attention when her name was called out on livestream, which was commented as lacking confidence, hoarse and shaky voice. The camera angle that did not flatter her beauty also made her image look paler than in reality.

Immediately after that, Huong Giang quickly “cleared her name” by posting a fancam clip recorded by the audience at the scene. The beauty expressed that she did not understand why the sound on the live broadcast was distorted like that, but she still maintained a calm and professional attitude.

However, Huong Giang continued to be embroiled in controversy when the mermaid dress she wore at the event “The Universe Ceremony” on the evening of November 5 was deemed inappropriate. The design by designer Do Long had a tight body, making it difficult for the beauty to walk the catwalk and almost tripped on stage. Many viewers commented that the dress, although flattering, was heavy, restricted her movement and made her look shorter than she actually was.

In response to mixed opinions, designer Do Long said the dress was made according to Huong Giang's idea with a classic fishtail shape, pearl-like taffeta material, and hand-sewn crystals. The beauty had to wear 20cm high heels to complete the look. According to him, this is the image of a "confident and attractive queen" that Huong Giang wanted to show when calling out Vietnam's name for the first time at Miss Universe.

Amidst the controversy, the beauty said she remained positive. Videos recording the moment Huong Giang called out her name quickly attracted millions of views on social media, making her one of the most attractive contestants in the early days of the competition.

However, on November 6, Miss Grand International Joint Stock Company (MGI PCL) - the host of Miss Universe 2025 announced the cancellation of the "Top 10 Special Dinner & Talk Show" event due to pressure from sponsors after the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) issued a related announcement. This made all online voting results, including Huong Giang in the leading group, invalid.

The organizers apologized to fans and affirmed that they would still ensure living and communication conditions for all contestants. At the same time, Iceland's representative - Helena O'Connor had to be hospitalized due to unstable health, causing fans to worry.

The fact that Huong Giang’s voting result was canceled is also a pity for the beauty. Because if she had been in the top 10 and had dinner with the contest organizers, she would have more or less impressed them.

Miss Universe 2025 takes place from November 2 to 21 in Thailand, gathering 123 contestants from all over the world . Vietnam's representative - Huong Giang is predicted to be in the top, however, competing for the title of Miss is not easy because the competitors in the contest are considered very strong.
