Vietnamese technology enterprise granted patent in the US

A Vietnamese company's technology to detect unusual sounds has just been granted a patent in the US, contributing to raising Vietnam's position on the global AI map.

On November 10, FPT Corporation announced that its breakthrough neural network technology in its abnormal sound detection system has just been patented in the US.

This AI technology helps businesses, especially in the manufacturing sector, solve important challenges in industrial maintenance and sound monitoring. The system can signal equipment failures, operational errors or security risks by recognizing unusual sound patterns.

Even in noisy environments, this technology still allows detecting abnormalities thanks to the application of a highly trained encoder-decoder neural network structure.

This advanced AI model has been integrated by FPT into the Intelligent Inspection (I2) SoundAI solution deployed for customers in the manufacturing and automotive sectors.

With the ability to detect abnormal sounds with up to 95% accuracy, SoundAI helps businesses proactively maintain equipment and check product quality, reducing dependence on manual processes and improving operational efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, Director of Artificial Intelligence FPT Software, FPT Corporation, said: "This patent continues to demonstrate FPT's ability to develop copyrighted technologies, solve complex practical problems, and meet strict international standards in AI research and application."

In early 2025, FPT became the first Vietnamese enterprise to be granted a patent in the US for a neural network system that generates and ranks source code. This technology is currently being applied to develop AI4Code - an intelligent programming assistant developed by FPT, helping to improve employee productivity and product quality for customers.
