On the afternoon of July 28, U23 Vietnam had their final training session to prepare for the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, against host U23 Indonesia. The training session took place in a very happy and comfortable atmosphere. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his students mainly did light exercise and reviewed their "favorite" lessons.
Midfielder Viktor Le commented: “ When entering the field, everyone wants to win. No matter what match, we want to win. Hopefully U23 Vietnam will prepare well for the final match to have a good performance.”
The midfielder of Ha Tinh also said that he can fully meet the professional requirements of coach Kim Sang Sik: “I try to listen and follow coach Kim’s instructions to help the team as much as possible. I also thank the coach for always giving useful advice. Thanks to that, I feel like I am improving every day.
I try to speak Vietnamese and I am improving. When I am at the hotel, I often talk to my teammates in Vietnamese. Thanks to that, the connection between me and other players on the field is also gradually getting better."
Regarding the final match, Viktor Le admitted that U23 Indonesia is a difficult team to play against, but U23 Vietnam is completely confident: "We have only conceded 2 goals since the beginning of the tournament. The team always maintains confidence in every minute, every match. Indonesia is a strong opponent, but we play our best and hope to have a good match."
When asked about the possibility of the final going into a nerve-wracking penalty shootout, Viktor Le remained calm: “Penalties are just a part of the game. What’s important is how we perform in the 90 minutes. Hopefully U23 Vietnam can settle the match in regulation time, but if it has to be a penalty shootout, then let’s do it.”
The final match between U23 Vietnam vs U23 Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. on July 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta.
