UniHack 2024 is a Hackathon competition organized by the Google Developer Student Club – DUT community and Google Developer Group Cloud Da Nang for students passionate about technology and programming across the central region.
Returning for its third season with the theme of Digital Tourism, UniHack 2024 is where young people can freely express their unlimited creativity. The competition has successfully nurtured and developed unique ideas, promising to bring technological breakthroughs in the field of tourism .
With 30 teams and a total of 120 contestants registered, the top 10 teams competed fiercely through more than 24 hours of continuous programming. The top 5 best teams advanced to the Final round to present their products to the panel of judges.

Ms. Huynh Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Tourism Promotion Center, Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, shared: I am very impressed with the contestants through the fact that they put the need for tourism innovation first and apply technology to solve problems in the industry, improve the experience of tourists and promote sustainable development. Potential project ideas presented at the UniHack 2024 competition will be considered and supported for development by the Tourism Promotion Center, Department of Tourism of Da Nang City after the competition.
The Seekers team officially won the UniHack 2024 Championship with the Hidden Gems project: An application to support the search for tourist destinations. The Hidden Gems application is a creative idea, focusing on exploiting unique and little-known locations. Hidden Gems ensures that the introduced locations are of high quality and suitable for each person's interests. The application not only helps protect the environment but also contributes to promoting sustainable tourism.
Second Prize went to Longtail Hamster Team with the project Spoter – Millions of Destinations. Spoter – Millions of Destinations is a social networking application where the travel enthusiast community can share real travel experiences and objectively evaluate destinations.
Third prize went to HueXplore team with the HueXplore project. HueXplore is a smart travel application, designed specifically for those who want to explore Thua Thien Hue fully and deeply.

The promising team was VAIAS with the project Vietnam AI Automation Services – Tourism. Vietnam AI Automation Services (VAIAS) provides a virtual assistant solution that automates customer interactions, from answering frequently asked questions to booking rooms, helping to reduce the workload for employees and improve customer experience.
The favorite award went to Byte Undefined with their project Friendly Tour Guide. Byte Undefined developed the Friendly Tour Guide platform that connects tourists with local guides and locals, using technology to ensure stability and information security for users.
