Prioritize resources for child care and protection

To materialize the theme "Prioritizing resources to achieve goals for children", in the Month of Action for Children 2025, units and localities will devote many resources to implementing diverse activities to care for, educate and protect children, contributing to building a safe and friendly living environment for children.

In early June 2025, the People's Committee of Hoa An Ward (Cam Le District) coordinated with the Ward Youth Union to launch the Action Month for Children with many interesting and useful activities for children in the whole ward. The ward leaders called on all levels, sectors, associations, unions and residential areas to coordinate well between schools, families and society to organize many practical activities for children, ensuring that children live in a safe and healthy environment. In addition, promote the movement of volunteer youth and youth volunteers among youth union members in protecting, caring for andeducating children; mobilize resources to ensure children's rights and solve children's problems; maintain and effectively promote models, diversify movements, and healthy recreational activities to help children exercise and have useful playgrounds in the summer. To take care of disadvantaged children, the Ward People's Committee donated nearly 300 gifts to children in difficult circumstances, children of poor households, and children with disabilities with a total cost of nearly 60 million VND. At the same time, it organized festivals, exchanges, and magic shows to help bring laughter to children. In Khue Trung Ward (Cam Le District), the local government focused on communication and education activities; expanding clubs and groups to create an environment for children to express their voices, thoughts, and aspirations. In addition, it mobilized social resources to visit, support, and care for children from poor households and children in especially difficult circumstances, contributing to creating a healthy and equal social environment to help children develop comprehensively.

Standing Vice Chairman of Hoa Vang District People's Committee Nguyen Thuc Dung said that the district has more than 600 children in special circumstances; 1,241 children living in poor and near-poor households; 237 orphans. In recent years, the work of caring for, educating and protecting children in the district has had positive changes. Authorities at all levels have effectively implemented social assistance policies for children in special circumstances. Children's rights are increasingly being paid attention to. Children have the opportunity to express their opinions and aspirations through children's rights clubs, children's forums and children's councils. Every year, the district mobilizes units, organizations, individuals and businesses inside and outside the area to support thousands of children in difficult circumstances, children with serious illnesses, orphans and disabled children, contributing to improving the spiritual and material lives of children.

During the summer vacation of 2025, localities pay special attention to propaganda and training activities to help children improve their knowledge and life skills. In Hoa Hai ward (Ngu Hanh Son district), the People's Committee of the ward directed the ward's associations, unions and residential areas to pay attention to and organize summer activities for students. In particular, focusing on cultural and artistic activities, sports , and healthy entertainment. At the same time, life skills are taught to children: skills to prevent abuse, violence, and injuries; skills to participate in safe traffic and first aid in case of accidents; skills to prevent fraud... Thereby creating a positive and safe environment for students to develop their qualities and abilities; helping them improve their knowledge, not to be taken advantage of, lured into participating in social evils, and illegal activities. Secretary of the Hoa Hai ward Youth Union Nguyen Nho Hoai said that the ward Youth Union is receiving students to participate in summer activities in the locality. Summer activities focus on propaganda and education about revolutionary traditions, propaganda about drowning prevention, the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes, accident and injury prevention, etc. The programs "Marching to the source to visit red addresses", youth volunteer movements associated with social security work aim to create opportunities for young people to practice skills, develop themselves, and live responsibly towards the community.

To create a safe, equal and friendly living environment for all children, the Women's Union of Man Thai Ward (Son Tra District) has just coordinated with World Vision to organize communication on gender equality and drowning prevention skills for more than 5,000 parents and children in 9 residential areas in the area. Parents and children were provided with knowledge, information and participated in an online contest to learn about the Law on Gender Equality to improve understanding and appropriate behavior in the family and society. Similarly, the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District trained more than 100 officers in charge of child abuse and injury prevention, population and health collaborators in the wards. According to Mr. Mai Nien, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, training in knowledge and skills to prevent child abuse and injuries is necessary to raise the understanding and awareness of parents, caregivers and the community, helping to better care for and protect children, aiming to build a safe and friendly city for all children.
