- Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que:Gia Lai has an important strategic position in socio-economic development, national defense and security, and foreign relations with countries in the region, especially Cambodia and Laos. In addition, the province has a road traffic system such as: National Highways 14, 14C, 19, 25, and Truong Son Dong Road. In particular, Gia Lai has Pleiku Airport.
Gia Lai has many potentials and advantages for development such as: large area, fertile land, mountainous terrain, valleys, plains interspersed, forming a climate characteristic of each region, which is a favorable premise for developing large-scale agriculture , applying high technology; developing industry-commerce, especially processing industry, renewable energy. Gia Lai also has abundant and stable sources of agricultural raw materials such as: coffee, rubber, pepper, sugarcane, cassava, tea...
The province's economy has recovered well after the Covid-19 pandemic, maintaining growth momentum. Socio-economic development indicators have improved. Planning and planning management have been focused on. Socio-economic infrastructure has received investment attention, promoting connectivity and spillover between localities.
The implementation of 4 key programs and 3 national target programs has achieved positive results. The appearance of rural, mountainous and urban areas has changed and improved. People's lives have improved significantly, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas. Cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and have positive changes; cultural identity is preserved and developed.
National defense and security have been consolidated and enhanced. The work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity has been focused on, directed and implemented. However, the overall economic picture in the 2020-2025 period is stable but has not had many breakthroughs. The economy has gradually recovered after the Covid-19 pandemic, but the growth rate is still low, not reaching the set target. The quality of economic growth is not sustainable. Small-scale industry, mainly focusing on the electricity production industry. The level of application of science and technology is not high. Infrastructure is not commensurate with the potential.
Administrative reform and competitiveness enhancement are still limited. Urban planning and construction management are not strict and consistent. Land and mineral resource management and the issuance of land use right certificates to people are still inadequate. Some aid projects of foreign non-governmental organizations are slow to be implemented.
Financial resources to implement green economic development goals are still limited; potential resources from land and resources for implementing sustainable development goals and green economic development have not been effectively exploited. Accordingly, the key tasks include: strongly improving the business investment environment, enhancing investment promotion, ensuring favorable conditions and fairness in benefits for investment, production and business activities. Promoting the formation of an ecosystem of businesses and creative startups.
Forming high-tech agricultural models associated with processing, improving the quality of intermediary services to form product value chains that meet export standards; encouraging investment in green industrial and agricultural production and circular economy.
Along with that, the province prioritizes training human resources in key areas such as: processing industry, high-tech agriculture, tourism, energy... Improving the quality and level of enjoyment of social life aspects of people in the province, especially in difficult areas, remote areas. Preserving and promoting cultural and historical values.
Develop synchronous infrastructure for key sectors and dynamic regions of the province. Prioritize investment in technology infrastructure, digital government, innovation centers, science and technology application support centers, transport infrastructure, urban and dynamic region connections, irrigation infrastructure, infrastructure supporting industries and services in industrial parks and clusters, infrastructure to connect tourism development.
Building the province towards becoming a model for renewable energy development, conservation and sustainable development of natural resources, biodiversity, especially forest resources, becoming one of the first provinces with a carbon neutral economy.
In addition, the province has implemented 5 development breakthroughs. First, breakthroughs in mechanisms and policies: transforming the growth model towards greening economic sectors; promoting linkage mechanisms to form product chains, product chain models, linkage mechanisms; building policies for priority and outstanding sectors such as: agriculture, processing industry, energy, tourism, sports and health care services.
In addition, breakthroughs in improving the investment and business environment to attract investment resources; improving access to land and planning quality; promoting investment and business; encouraging innovation and creative startups; policy breakthroughs to improve the quality of the provincial staff and civil servants with sufficient qualities, capacity and prestige, equal to the tasks; promoting administrative reform and building digital government; maximizing the speed of granting investment certificates and business licenses; government operations based on digital platforms, taking serving people and businesses as the top goal.
Second, breakthrough in human resources: training high-quality human resources with the ability to adapt and self-train, especially with high professional qualifications in a number of key areas such as: high-tech agriculture, eco-tourism, high-tech processing industry, medicine and health care, renewable energy.
Attracting highly qualified science and technology experts in priority fields; developing a network of education and training facilities according to national standards; selecting a number of fields that meet international standards, meeting the needs of the labor market and the socio-economic development requirements of the province.
Third, infrastructure breakthroughs: building a synchronous infrastructure system, especially infrastructure for dynamic regions; focusing on developing transport infrastructure, irrigation infrastructure; infrastructure serving industrial parks and clusters, and telecommunications infrastructure. Fourth, breakthroughs in ecological networks and the formation of ecological-based industry clusters: sustainable forestry development, enhancing livelihoods, increasing forest cover to adapt to climate change; developing forestry into an important and highly competitive economic sector, adapting to climate change; conserving and restoring biodiversity corridors; building an industrial-agricultural chain. Fifth, breakthrough development corridors and growth space poles: Ho Chi Minh economic corridor (National Highway 14), National Highway 19, National Highway 25 will be 3 dynamic economic corridors connecting Pleiku City and surrounding areas to spread socio-economic to localities in the province, promoting the whole province to participate in the 4th industrial revolution; Pleiku City expands its administrative space connecting with neighboring districts to take on many new functions of digital transformation, services in the fields of innovation, industry, agriculture-forestry, science and technology, education, tourism, health, and sports.

- Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que: During the past term, the province's economic development indicators all achieved good growth rates, and growth quality was improved. The economic structure continued to shift in the right direction. It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the average GRDP per capita will reach 75.69 million VND, and the urbanization rate will reach 30.51%. Up to now, the whole province has 94/180 communes and 162 villages and hamlets meeting new rural standards. The socio-economic infrastructure system has received attention for investment and construction, especially the traffic system.
The effectiveness and efficiency of state management at all levels have been improved; administrative reform, e-government construction, and digital transformation have achieved many positive results. The socio-cultural field has received attention and achieved many results, social security has been ensured, the epidemic has been controlled; people's material and spiritual life has continued to improve significantly; political security and social order have been maintained.
In the coming period, the province will focus on implementing the policy of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus; focusing on implementing tasks of rapid, green, and sustainable socio-economic development; ensuring that the economic structure continues to shift in the right direction. Focus on digital transformation, building digital government, digital society, digital citizens; transitioning to a green economy and circular economy.
Closely combine socio-economic development with social security, ensure political security, social order and safety, strengthen national defense-security and foreign affairs.
