The working delegation of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, led by Comrade Don Tuan Phong - Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, has just organized a monitoring of the implementation of international treaties on the territorial border between Vietnam and Cambodia through Kon Tum province.

Working with the delegation were comrade Y Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Provincial Border Guard Command and related departments, branches, sectors and localities of the province.
Kon Tum province has a border with Rattanakiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia, over 138 km long. In recent times, the implementation of international border treaties of the province has achieved many results. The most prominent is the work of strict border management and protection; handling and resolving incidents occurring on the border in accordance with regulations; territorial sovereignty is maintained; the system of border lines and national border markers is intact; political security, social order and safety in the border area are stable.
The work of demarcating the Vietnam-Cambodia land border through Kon Tum and Rattanakiri provinces was carried out from the end of 2006 to 2018 and Kon Tum province has basically completed the work of demarcating the border. The good implementation of international treaties in Kon Tum province contributes to promoting the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, creating favorable conditions for cooperation to promote economic, cultural and social development between the two sides.
During this monitoring trip, the Working Group inspected and supervised the demarcation and marker planting work from January 22 to February 23 in Ia Dal commune, Ia H'Drai district, under the management of Sa Thay Border Guard Station, the Provincial Border Guard Command.
Speaking at the monitoring session, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Don Tuan Phong highly appreciated the management and protection of the national border and territory of the officers and soldiers of Sa Thay Border Guard Station in particular and the Kon Tum provincial government in general. At the same time, he suggested that in the coming time, the local government should coordinate more closely and synchronously with the functional forces stationed in the province to effectively implement international treaties on the border and territory between Vietnam and Cambodia through the province./.
