“Today, technical and tactical movements must be faster and more proficient than yesterday” - that saying is not only a reminder but has become the motto of action for every officer and soldier in the unit. Major Tran Van Thang, a reconnaissance officer of the Special Reconnaissance Platoon (Mechanized Reconnaissance Company), wiped the sweat that remained on his sunburnt face and shared: “We are very proud to be considered the “steel blow” of the provincial military. To be worthy of that trust, every reconnaissance soldier must constantly train in both physical strength and combat skills, especially political courage and situational thinking.”

Private First Class Tran Anh Duc, a scout of the 2nd Mechanized Reconnaissance Platoon, confided: “After a day of intense training, everyone feels tired, but when I think of the sacred oath before the Military Flag, I tell myself that I must not falter. The scouts are the vanguard force, acting quickly and decisively, with no room for hesitation or fatigue.”
As a special force assigned to train and conduct combat readiness, the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company always adheres to the training motto of "secret, surprise, bravery, and precision". The Party Committee and commander of the unit identify specialized training in reconnaissance as a key factor to improve combat readiness in all situations. According to Major Nguyen Van Kinh, Captain of the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company: In training, the unit implements the motto of "studying literature and practicing martial arts", focusing on practice, organizing training close to actual combat conditions. A reconnaissance soldier must not only be physically strong but also have a strong political stance, a steadfast spirit, and an iron will in the face of all challenges. Assigned with many important tasks, such as ensuring absolute safety for major political events of the country, especially the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30); protecting Party Congresses at all levels, etc. The unit proactively develops plans and organizes training according to specific scenarios, including unexpected situations, troop withdrawals, secret attacks, and overcoming difficult terrain, to train the ability to handle quickly, independently, and coordinate between reconnaissance teams.

The biggest challenge for a mechanized reconnaissance soldier is not the weather or terrain, but overcoming physical and mental limits and the ability to adapt under stressful conditions. Exercises such as capturing enemies, climbing tall buildings, and crossing fire rings require physical strength, quick reflexes, and a steely spirit. Therefore, maintaining a strong spirit and not letting pressure drag down one’s will is a very important task. Captain Pham Minh Duc, Political Commissar of the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company, said: “A reconnaissance soldier, in addition to being good at techniques and physically strong, must also have a strong will and a strong political stance. We identify politicaleducation as the foundation throughout all training and practice activities. Building the spirit and will of officers and soldiers is not only in the political study sessions according to the program, but is also integrated into all daily activities. The unit regularly maintains ideological activities, weekly meetings, shows historical documentaries, tells traditional stories, organizes youth forums, union activities, military councils, etc. Through that, soldiers are strengthened in their belief in revolutionary goals and ideals, and clearly understand the meaning and responsibility for the assigned tasks.”

Despite the harsh weather conditions and hot summer sun, officers and soldiers still persistently stick to the training ground, completing all the content and time according to the training plan. In addition to regular hours, the unit also organizes sports training, developing comprehensive physical strength through sports such as long-distance running, weightlifting, volleyball, horizontal bars, etc. Thanks to that, the annual training results of the unit always exceed the test targets for each subject; the rate of good and excellent is over 85%, the number of healthy soldiers is always stable at over 98%. In particular, in provincial sports competitions, the unit continuously achieves high prizes, many individuals are selected to compete at the Military Region level, bringing high achievements to the provincial military.
Proud of their role as the “steel blow” of the provincial armed forces, the mechanized reconnaissance soldiers of the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command are training day and night on the training ground, honing their bravery, intelligence and fighting strength. In every step, punch, and sharp gaze is an indomitable spirit, a commitment to sacrifice for the peace of the Fatherland and the people.
