In early April, the Le Thuy Folk Song Club made a meaningful trip to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to participate in the event "Le Thuy Folk Song Heritage on the Flow of Time". The event was organized in collaboration with three units: the Trade Union of the Faculty of Literature, the Trade Union of the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, and the Trade Union of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities.
This event is part of a series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Literature, University of Hanoi, scheduled to take place later this year. Through this event, the beautiful traditional cultural values of the nation will be disseminated to students, especially international students, thereby contributing to fostering love for and awareness of preserving heritage.
Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Ly, Head of the Le Thuy Folk Song Club (Le Thuy commune), emotionally recalled: "The simple, rustic folk songs, deeply rooted in the homeland of Le Thuy, a land closely associated with General Vo Nguyen Giap, resonated within the academic space, contributing to the dissemination and honoring of the value of Vietnamese folk culture in contemporary life."
Despite their advanced age, the artists of the club continue to perform with passion and dedication, striving to preserve and promote the "ho khoan" folk singing tradition to the public, especially the younger generation. The program includes 8 outstanding performances, vividly recreating the beauty of "ho khoan" folk songs through various melodies and rich themes, such as: "Luu Thuy Kim Tien," "Cac Mai Ho Co," "Ho Khoi," "Ve Me Suot," "Ho Khoan Suite about General Vo Nguyen Giap: The joyful return to his hometown during the festival season," etc.

The warm reception and the radiant, eager faces of the students are clear evidence of the enduring vitality of this heritage. It is the love and interest of these young people that motivates the artisans to continue their journey of preserving and spreading the art of folk singing within the national cultural tradition.
In particular, information and content about the event were updated on the fanpages of the relevant faculties of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as the fanpage of the Le Thuy Folk Song Club. In addition, many young people attending the event also shared live streams and updates on social media platforms.
It can be said that the event "Le Thuy Folk Song Heritage on the Flow of Time" not only provided a rich and moving artistic experience but also contributed to promoting and introducing the folk song heritage to a wider audience, beyond the confines of the villages along the Kien Giang River.
This is not the first time Le Thuy folk singing has been presented to the capital's audience; this heritage has had the opportunity to be showcased at several other cultural events. However, this time there is a clear difference, with increased interest, attention, and dissemination in the digital space, bringing the heritage closer to young people.
According to Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Ly, the club previously paid close attention to recording and filming performances and programs, then posting them on the club's fanpage and the personal Facebook pages of its members. News reports, documentaries, and music programs produced by Quang Tri Newspaper, radio, and television, as well as other media outlets, about the club were also collected and posted on these platforms.
On January 7, 2026, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture. It clearly states: The goal is to complete the digitization of 100 % of cultural heritage sites that have been ranked at the national and special national levels by 2026.
However, due to the fact that most club members are elderly and not tech-savvy, the promotion and dissemination of heritage information is fragmented and lacks experience. In particular, the materials are not stored systematically and are frequently lost, leading to a waste of heritage resources. The club also hopes that, in the context of the current strong digital transformation, there will be reasonable solutions from all levels, sectors, and localities to support the Folk Culture Clubs in digitizing and promoting heritage through the internet.

As for the Song Hien Folk Song Club, it has long regularly updated its fanpage with information about its activities, performances, and media coverage. In addition, members regularly share information, activities, and new performances on social media platforms. The good news is that these posts receive considerable public attention, especially from those living far from their hometown.
Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thanh Hong, Head of the Song Hien Folk Song Club, shared that the club is still concerned because, in addition to updating its products on digital platforms, it has not yet been able to digitize its archive of materials accumulated over several years of operation to more effectively preserve and promote the heritage. To achieve this, the club hopes for support from all levels, sectors, and localities, especially in providing further training on digital transformation in folk culture activities.
According to researcher Dang Thi Kim Lien, Head of the Quang Tri Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Traditional Culture Association: Digital transformation in the activities of traditional culture clubs in the province has mainly focused on promotion and introduction on digital platforms. Many other benefits of digital transformation have not yet been widely disseminated, such as: digitizing the documentation system; innovating teaching and training methods, especially developing the cultural industry and digital economy… One of the main reasons is that most artisans and members of traditional culture clubs are elderly, and their technological capabilities are still limited. In the future, in the context of digital transformation positively impacting all aspects of social life, it is expected that the field of traditional culture will undergo stronger and more decisive innovations with the thorough attention of all levels, sectors, and localities, especially at the provincial level.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's project "Digital Transformation in the Cultural Sector by 2030, Vision to 2045," the goal by 2030 is to strive for 100% of cultural sectors to have a common digital platform; 100% of digitized cultural heritage types to have standardized data according to the national standard framework and shared according to regulations; and at least 80% of intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minority areas to be digitized and stored in specialized cultural database systems.
