According to the report at the working session, in 2024, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 proactively developed a plan and directed the effective implementation of tasks to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area.
Specifically, in 2024, the authorities inspected and handled 6,118 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and banned goods, down 3.21% compared to 2023. Of which, 5,480 cases were handled for administrative violations, down 0.9% compared to 2023. The total amount of administrative fines was nearly 60.5 billion VND. The total value of confiscated infringing goods was more than 16.7 billion VND. The authorities prosecuted 412 cases, with 622 subjects.
Regarding the implementation of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods during the peak period before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 has issued a plan and directed the province's anti-smuggling forces to strengthen the prevention and combat of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods at the border as well as domestically.
At the meeting, members of the working delegation of the National Steering Committee 389 and the provincial Steering Committee 389 discussed and clarified the methods and tricks of smugglers. At the same time, they proposed measures to prevent and handle the smuggling in the coming time.
Speaking at the working session, the Head of the working delegation of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 highly appreciated the results achieved by the Provincial Steering Committee 389 in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2024.
At the same time, it is recommended that in the coming time, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 continue to effectively implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389 on combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; continue to do a good job of advising the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to effectively deploy the work of preventing smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area.
