In a solemn and heroic atmosphere, all officers and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand sang the song "As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory", expressing the spirit of solidarity and national pride.

Before the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung and all staff of the Embassy and neighboring agencies respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and the heroes and martyrs at the Uncle Ho Shrine in the Embassy grounds.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung emphasized that this is an opportunity for every Vietnamese citizen to review the heroic and resilient struggle of the Vietnamese people for independence, freedom and national reunification under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh. The victory in the spring of 1975 ended the war, opening a new era for the country: the era of independence, freedom, peace, reunification and development.

The rally also expressed deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the founder, leader and trainer of the Communist Party in the steadfast struggle for national independence, leading the Vietnamese people from one victory to another.

The Ambassador emphasized the special and honorable thing that Vietnamese officials and employees are living and working in Thailand, a stopover of Uncle Ho on his journey to find a way to save the country in the period of 1928-1929.

On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Viet Hung reviewed documents about President Ho Chi Minh's life and activities in Thailand. Accordingly, President Ho Chi Minh first came to Thailand in July 1928, with the aim of spreading patriotism to the overseas Vietnamese community living and working there. This created the premise for the development of movements to fight against French colonialism by the people in the country.

During his nearly 2 years of working in Thailand, President Ho Chi Minh traveled to many locations such as the capital Bangkok and several provinces in the Northeast of Thailand to carry out revolutionary activities. Although he lived and worked in Thailand for a short period of time, the affection and enthusiastic support that all classes of Thai people gave to President Ho Chi Minh was always deeply engraved in his mind.

Therefore, no matter which region of Thailand he went to, President Ho Chi Minh always advised overseas Vietnamese to be diligent, hardworking, honest, and to respect the laws and customs of the Thai people. He also often reminded the overseas Vietnamese community to build great solidarity with the locals, while not forgetting to remind them of the affection and connection between the two peoples of Vietnam and Thailand.

"His ideology, morality and style are always a guiding torch for all generations of Vietnamese people in general and the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand in particular to follow," Ambassador Pham Viet Hung emphasized.

Promoting the nation's indomitable tradition, the Ambassador reminded the Vietnamese community in Thailand to be more aware of their role and responsibility in the context of the country entering a period of deep international integration. The spirit of the great victory in the spring of 1975 is not only a source of pride but also a source of strength for solidarity, innovation, socio-economic development, building a strong national defense, maintaining independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Liem, Assistant Defense Attaché, reported on the victory in the spring of 1975, reviewing historical milestones in the journey to gain independence, freedom, and national reunification, and lessons learned from the historic victory for the cause of national construction and defense in the current period.

On this occasion, all officers and staff of the Embassy and neighboring agencies watched episode 19 with the theme "National Reunification" of the documentary "The Chosen Path" produced by Army Cinema.
