About 500m from the National Highway 1 intersection, the roundabout on Tan An City Belt Road in Khanh Hau Ward is located in the middle of a residential area, shaped like a multi-petal flower from ornamental plants.

Running along the Tan An City Beltway, looking far away, you can see wide, curved roads, passing through rice fields, green coconut trees, etc. In order for the project to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023, the leaders of the province, Tan An City, Department of Transport, contractors, construction units, etc. are focusing human and material resources on the project.
By the end of 2023, the route was basically completed and vehicles could travel smoothly along the route. The bridge project across the Vam Co Tay River and the Rach Chanh bridge project (the last item) were also on schedule to connect the entire route.
Previously, at the construction site of the bridge project across the Vam Co Tay River (connecting Binh Tam commune and Nhon Thanh Trung commune), about 100 officers, engineers, and workers were still busy constructing the project. Not only working during the day, the team of workers also worked at night. The bridge project across the Vam Co Tay River is an important part of the route, which started construction at the end of 2021. The bridge has 7 spans, is more than 400m long, 18.5m wide with a total cost of over 600 billion VND and was closed in September 2023, several months ahead of schedule.
Bao Dinh Bridge (connecting Tan Khanh ward and An Vinh Ngai commune) is a bridge with beautiful architecture on Tan An City Ring Road.
Nearly 12km out of a total of 23km of Tan An City Ring Road was also opened to traffic on the occasion of April 30, 2023 to reduce traffic pressure. The section opened to traffic from Tu Phuong Industrial Cluster (Loi Binh Nhon Commune) intersecting National Highway 1 (Tan Khanh Ward, Khanh Hau Ward) to Provincial Road 827A (An Vinh Ngai Commune and Binh Tam Commune). On this section, the bridge over Bao Dinh River connecting Tan Khanh Ward and An Vinh Ngai Commune was completed after 2 years of construction. This is considered a bridge with quite beautiful architecture.
Mr. Nguyen Van Truong, a truck driver, shared: “I often transport goods from Tan An City to Chau Thanh District ( Long An ). Like many other drivers, I am very excited when the Tan An City Ring Road is fully open to traffic. During the days before Tet, there are quite a lot of vehicles, the formation of the road helps us have more options when participating in traffic when passing through the city. Drivers participating in traffic on this route say that the road is very beautiful, wide, and can shorten the time compared to traveling to the city center because the road is narrow and crowded.”
Sharing the same thoughts with Mr. Truong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu - a resident of Khanh Hau ward, Tan An city, said: “We are very happy when the road is completed, creating favorable conditions for vehicles to travel conveniently, from Tan An city to the districts: Thu Thua, Chau Thanh, Tan Tru is not as far as before. Moreover, in the afternoon on this route, the air is very cool. Many shops along the route also spring up with a bustling, bustling scene. Passersby stop to drink water, nearby people leisurely walk to enjoy the cool, peaceful feeling at the end of the year”.
The Tan An City Ring Road project is about 23km long, with a road surface width of 33m (including road surface and corridor), passing through Thu Thua district and Tan An city. The starting point intersects with My Phu intersection (Thu Thua district), the end point is at the intersection of National Highway 1 - Provincial Road 833, Tan An city. In Tan An city, the project passes through the communes: Loi Binh Nhon, An Vinh Ngai, Binh Tam, Nhon Thanh Trung; wards: Khanh Hau, Tan Khanh, 7, 5. Construction scale: 4-6 lanes, bridge system on the route, drainage system, public lighting system,... divided into many construction packages. The total investment of the component projects is over 3,100 billion VND, of which, construction investment cost is over 1,660 billion VND, site clearance cost is over 1,440 billion VND. |
The lifeline for development
According to information from the People's Committee of Tan An City, Tan An City Ring Road is one of the three key projects according to the Resolution of the 10th Provincial Party Congress, term 2015-2020; Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress determined that Completing Tan An City Ring Road is one of the three key projects for the term 2020-2025.
The project started in 2016 and started construction in 2019. After two terms, the implementation process sometimes lacked consistency in propaganda and mobilization. The project has a large number of affected households (1,678 households), lasting for many years due to many difficulties and obstacles in compensation and site clearance as well as being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. With the attention of provincial leaders, related departments and branches, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the determination of the entire political system, ... the project was completed and the entire route was opened to traffic in the joy and excitement of the city's authorities and people.
Bridge over Vam Co Tay River - an important project of Tan An City Ring Road
After completion, the project will help reduce pressure on National Highway 1, the National Highway 1 bypass through Tan An City and Hung Vuong Street, Hung Vuong (extended), and redirect traffic to the suburban areas. The project will also contribute to expanding the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, connecting the Western provinces with Ho Chi Minh City and the Eastern region, greatly contributing to the process of building a class I urban area of Tan An City.
Acting Chairman of Tan An City People's Committee - Vo Hong Thao informed that Tan An City is the central urban area in terms of politics, economy , science - technology, culture - society and national defense - security of the province. Although Tan An City has a long history of formation, it is still on a small scale. Most urban development is still concentrated in central wards such as wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Meanwhile, the neighboring areas of the city, although still have large land funds, are difficult to develop because the transport infrastructure system is still weak.
Therefore, the Tan An City Ring Road Project is implemented not only to create synchronization and upgrade urban infrastructure but also to create conditions and motivation for the city to develop. The city also has high expectations that when the route is completed and put into use, it will create a backbone surrounding the city, opening up new directions of development, especially urban development.
Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tan An City - Le Cong Dinh said that in the past time, with the motto of "Persistence, endurance, flexibility, persuasion, efficiency" associated with the work of grasping the situation, handling well the arising ideological issues, orienting public opinion, ... thereby contributing to the new appearance of Tan An City Ring Road as it is today. With the support of the province, especially the working trips to remove difficulties and obstacles of the provincial leaders; contacting and dialogue with people in the project, ... has brought Tan An City Ring Road to completion on time.
In the coming time, the city will continue to maximize the investment efficiency of the route to further develop the city. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc said that the completion and use of the Tan An City Ring Road and the bridge over the Vam Co Tay River are of great significance to Tan An City in particular and Long An Province in general.
He suggested that it is necessary to immediately implement the plan to exploit land funds on both sides of the Tan An City Beltway and connecting roads, ensuring feasibility, synchronization, and conformity with the planning orientation of the province and Tan An City to create new resources and driving forces for development in the coming time./.
