Accordingly, the prices of many common construction materials such as bricks, stones, and sand have increased compared to the same period in 2024.
Red bricks and sand of all kinds increased the most. Currently, Gia Thanh red bricks are priced at 1,700 VND/brick; Dai Duong, Hoang Long bricks... are priced at 1,100 - 1,300 VND/brick, an increase of 500 - 600 VND/brick compared to last month.
Concrete sand is currently priced at 500,000 - 600,000 VND/m3; construction sand is priced at 300,000 - 320,000 VND/m3, increasing by 70,000 VND per cubic meter.
Stone 1x2, 2x4 is priced at 400,000 VND/m3, an increase of about 50,000 VND/m3.
The price of rolled steel on the market fluctuates at 15,000-16,500 VND/kg; diameter 16 is 25,500 VND/kg; diameter 6 and diameter 8 steel is priced at 146-147,000 VND/bar.
The price of cement of all kinds increased insignificantly, up 50,000 VND/quintal.
According to Ms. Le Thi Kim, Owner of Ha Kim Construction Materials Store (Ninh My Ward, Hoa Lu City): This year, people's demand for house construction has increased dramatically. In early May, the prices of construction materials began to increase, and at this time, all items have increased simultaneously. At times, stone and brick items were "out of stock", with the strongest increase being red bricks and sand.
With this increase, it is expected that each construction project will increase in price by 20-30%. This causes difficulties for residents as well as project owners.
