Athletes eager to conquer Aqua Warriors and Quang Tri International Marathon

"The tournament is very interesting in terms of swimming and running. I am very nervous before competing, hoping to achieve the best performance and win a medal," athlete Tran Dinh Tau, from Da Nang, expressed before competing in the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025, one of two tournaments organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Bolt Event, which will take place on August 2.

On the morning of August 1, many athletes from all over the country were present at Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri to check in and receive their competition bibs on the first day of competition, Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025.

One of the notable faces in this tournament is Tran Dinh Tau, a member of the national team preparing to participate in the 33rd SEA Games taking place this coming December.

The athlete born in 2003 said he decided to join Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 to have the opportunity to challenge himself, to best prepare physically and mentally before the SEA Games taking place in Thailand later this year.

"This is the third time I have participated in the Aqua Warriors tournaments organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Bolt Event. I won first place in the tournament in Van Don in September 2025 and then second place in the tournament in Ha Long last April.

At this tournament taking place in Quang Tri, I only set a goal of being in the top 3 as the tournament gathered many strong athletes from all over the country. To be able to stand on the podium to win a medal, I always try my best to practice every day to improve my performance," athlete Tran Dinh Tau said.

Also according to the athlete born in 2003, Tran Dinh Tau said that he had been training hard for more than a month before the tournament. Currently, this athlete has achieved the results of swimming 750m within 10 minutes and running 5km within 20 minutes.

Notably, the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament attracted many female athletes to participate. Attending the check-in session before the tournament, female athlete Ngo Thi Huyen also expressed her excitement before competing in the Sprint Aqua Warriors event (including 750m swimming and 5km running).

"This is the second time I have participated in the Aqua Warriors tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Bolt Event. I highly appreciate the professionalism of the tournament, the swimming location as well as the running route in Ha Long and Quang Tri this time are all very beautiful and interesting", athlete Ngo Thi Huyen expressed.

To be able to compete well in this tournament, the female athlete from Da Nang said she practiced very hard for the running part and tried to achieve a result under pace 5 (average 5km per minute).

"I don't want to point out who my opponents are, but consider everyone as my opponents. The most important thing is that I try to maximize my ability in both swimming and running to be able to stand on the podium in this tournament," Ngo Thi Huyen affirmed.

Another female athlete also from Da Nang, To Nu My Ngoc, said that the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament was her third time participating in a tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper.

"I finished second in both previous races, so I really wanted to change the color of the medal this time. For the tournament in Quang Tri, I made a few changes in the content. Instead of competing in the Sprint Aqua Warriors event, I switched to the Olympic Aqua Warriors Relay and I was in charge of the swimming competition.

I have practiced a lot to improve my swimming performance, however, swimming in the sea to achieve good results also depends on natural conditions such as waves, wind, and the ability to orient the target. However, experiencing swimming on a beautiful beach like this is really interesting," My Ngoc expressed.

Also expressing his excitement ahead of the tournament, athlete Nguyen Ngoc Trung Do - Olympic Aqua Warriors champion at the Aqua Warriors Halong Bay tournament held last April - affirmed that he had been practicing very hard over the past few weeks to have the best performance at the tournament taking place in Quang Tri.

"Last tournament I was lucky to win the championship. In this tournament I don't expect to win the championship again but will try to compete as best as possible," said athlete Trung Do.

Sharing the secret to achieving good results in a tough tournament like Aqua Warriors, athlete Trung Do said he always tries to allocate enough time to practice swimming and running.

"Everyone keep a comfortable mindset, eat lightly and get enough sleep to have the best performance tomorrow," athlete Trung Do concluded.
