The Vietnamese sports delegation has just had a successful 32nd SEA Games, ranking first overall with 136 gold medals, 105 silver medals, and 114 bronze medals.
Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals at SEA Games 32
According to Decree 152 of the Government , Vietnamese coaches and athletes who win gold, silver and bronze medals at the SEA Games will be rewarded with 45 million VND, 25 million VND and 20 million VND respectively. Breaking a national record will be rewarded with an additional 20 million VND.
Just counting the bonus according to state regulations, the Vietnamese delegation this year received 35 billion 720 million VND.
Notable among these are two individuals who were awarded up to 180 million VND.
Specifically, in athletics, Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals in the 5,000m, 1,500m, 10,000m and 3,000m hurdles events.
Besides the bonus from the state, Nguyen Thi Oanh also received many valuable rewards from businesses and sponsors.
Most prominent are a car worth 900 million VND, an apartment worth about 700 million VND, 70 million VND from Bac Giang province and many other valuables.
It is estimated that the owners of the 4 SEA Games 32 gold medals were awarded and rewarded up to nearly 2 billion VND.
Meanwhile, Hung Nguyen won 3 gold medals (including 1 gold medal in the men's 400m medley relay), 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.
Adding another record, the total bonus that Hung Nguyen received according to State regulations is also 180 million VND.
Next is swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang with 3 gold medals, 1 bronze medal (total prize is 155 million VND). Swimmer Pham Thanh Bao won 2 gold medals, broke 2 SEA Games records (each record is 20 million VND), his total prize is 130 million VND.
At the 2023 Southeast Asian Games, the Vietnamese swimming team won 7 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.
Including 6 individual gold medals, 1 gold medal in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay (with 4 athletes, each athlete received 45 million VND), 3 individual silver medals, 6 individual bronze medals, 1 bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
The swimming team won 1.32 billion VND (athletes and gold medals) in total. The diving team won the most with 3 billion VND in prize money.
The athletics team won 12 gold medals (10 individual gold medals, 2 relay gold medals), 20 silver medals (19 individual silver medals, 1 relay silver medal), 8 bronze medals. The total prize money was 2 billion 860 million VND.
