The beauty of the seaweed season at Ganh Yen scenic spot.

At Gành Yến, Bình Hải commune, Bình Sơn district (Quảng Ngãi province), seaweed grows in dense forests on the seabed, creating a magical and poetic scene with its characteristic yellow-brown color. In the crystal-clear water, the seaweed sways with the waves, creating a vibrant and majestic picture.

Seaweed grows in dense forests on the seabed, its stems clinging to rocks or dead coral substrates, reaching upwards towards the sunlight. In the crystal-clear water, the characteristic yellowish-brown seaweed densely and vividly moves with each wave, creating a magical scene at Gành Yến scenic spot.

During the harvest season, each household can harvest about 6 tons of seaweed, earning a maximum income of 60-70 million VND. Many fishermen say that seaweed is a "gift from the sea" that helps them supplement their income alongside fishing.

Seaweed acts as a green lung and a roof for many marine organisms. The dense seaweed canopy provides shelter, breeding grounds, and feeding areas for a multitude of small creatures. Seaweed helps maintain a stable seabed, reduces wave action, and limits erosion in coastal areas.

To address the challenges of livelihoods and marine resource conservation, the project "Protection, exploitation and development of seaweed in coastal communes of Binh Son district linked to sustainable livelihoods for the community" was implemented. The project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme, the Small Projects Programme of the Global Environment Fund.

During the seaweed season, in addition to enjoying various water sports such as SUP paddling and snorkeling to admire coral reefs, visitors can also experience the feeling of immersing themselves in the cool, clear water, watching the seaweed forests swaying with the waves, creating a majestic and poetic scene.

Located approximately 35 km north of Quang Ngai city center, Ganh Yen scenic spot lies beside Thanh Thuy fishing village, Binh Hai commune, Binh Son district (Quang Ngai). This scenic spot has retained its pristine and majestic beauty to this day.
