Accordingly, the assessment of admission capacity to this school will be conducted at the same time and content as the entrance exam for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, said that the reason why Thu Duc City chose to enroll 6th grade students in Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School using the above method is because for many years now, the demand from parents wanting their children to study at this school has been higher than the quota, so using this method of enrollment will ensure fairness, transparency and objectivity.

Regarding this issue, Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City builds a plan for primary school enrollment and the Department of Education and Training supports in the organization and content of the survey.
In addition to Thu Duc City, according to Mr. Nam, the Department of Education and Training of all districts can register secondary schools that are qualified to test and evaluate capacity to enroll 6th grade students. Districts and counties will base on the situation of enrollment registration to secondary schools, if the number of students registering is more than the enrollment quota, they will propose a plan. Localities that are qualified will organize entrance exams and capacity assessments, can organize the content of the survey themselves or propose support from the Department.
Also according to Mr. Le Hoai Nam, this is based on the consolidated document No. 03 of the Minister of Education and Training on promulgating the Regulations on Secondary School Admissions and High School Admissions, in which Clause 2, Article 4 states: "Secondary school admissions are based on the selection method. In case the number of students registering for grade 6 is more than the enrollment quota, the Department of Education and Training will guide the implementation of the enrollment plan based on the selection method or combine selection with testing and assessing students' abilities".
Up to now, in Ho Chi Minh City, besides Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Middle School (Thu Duc City) is the second place to conduct the 6th grade entrance exam.
