[Video] Preparing teacher resources to make English a second language

Vietnam aims to make English the second language in schools by 2035. This is a strategic direction to enhance international integration capacity. However, to realize this, general education must overcome many challenges, in which the teaching staff plays a key role.

Unlike foreign languages, when it becomes a second language, English will be a tool for teaching other subjects.

This requires comprehensive reform of the curriculum, teaching materials, methods and especially pedagogical capacity in English.

The long-term solution is to develop a workforce of young Vietnamese teachers who are good at foreign languages ​​and have received thorough pedagogical training, combined with a strict quality assurance system and an academic environment that encourages the use of English.
