Quan Lan Island (Van Don district, Quang Ninh ) is located in Bai Tu Long Bay, an ideal destination, attracting tourists with beautiful, pristine scenery, clear blue water, and long white sand beaches.
This place is known as the "green pearl in the heart of the bay" of the North. Because it is located in the bay, the sea route to the island is usually without big waves, the travel time is fast, and visitors can reduce the worry of seasickness.
Quan Lan Island has clear blue sea, very beautiful.
Similar to Co To Island, Quan Lan is most beautiful in the summer, especially from April to the end of June, when the sky is clear, the temperature is not too hot, and there are no storms.
Autumn in Quan Lan is also very beautiful but the air is colder, with a lot of rain. If you go to the island from July to September, visitors should pay attention to the weather forecast to avoid storms and tropical depressions.
From April to June, the weather on the island is beautiful and not too crowded, so visitors can fully enjoy the peaceful, pristine beauty.
Linh Xinh (from Son La) recently traveled to Quan Lan with 3 friends. The female tourist was quite surprised by the beauty of the poetic island.
She said that compared to Cat Ba and Co To, Quan Lan has not yet developed tourism, but it attracts tourists with its wildness and peace.
"After Typhoon Yagi (2024), some places on the island were seriously affected, quite desolate and ruined. People are recovering and rebuilding," Linh said.
Minh Chau Port becomes an attractive photo backdrop for tourists
Quan Lan Island has many beautiful beaches such as Minh Chau beach, Robinson beach, Rua beach, Tien beach, Quan Lan beach...
Minh Chau Beach has the smoothest white sand so it is always crowded. Robinson Beach is located between Son Hao and Minh Chau beaches, has a pristine coastline, and has a resort located in the middle of a green pine forest.
Minh Chau beach has fine white sand and no trash.
"Minh Chau beach and Quan Lan beach are gently sloping, with fine white sand and very blue and clear water. Both beaches have many services such as SUP rental (VND 200,000), banana floats (VND 500,000), canoeing (VND 300,000)...
I like Minh Chau beach a little more because the sand is very clean, with almost no trash," Linh shared.

Eo Gio, located near Cau Temple, Cua Dong, about 6km from Quan Lan wharf, is a check-in spot loved by many tourists.
From the top of the mountain, visitors can observe the whole island or look out at the blue sea, with white foam waves.
At Eo Gio, visitors can admire the beautiful island from above.
Another famous check-in spot on the island is Vo Cuc Hill - a high hill in Thai Hoa village. On the top of Vo Cuc Hill, visitors will be immersed in the wild and majestic scenery that appears before their eyes.
From the top of the hill, visitors can look far away, embracing the beautiful scenery of Quan Lan island and poetic Bai Tu Long bay.
Connecting the two island communes of Minh Chau - Quan Lan is a famous route with both beautiful and romantic scenery and is considered a giant "air conditioner" that relieves the heat of the island.
However, according to Linh, after Typhoon Yagi, the casuarina trees were greatly affected. The riverside area with its white sand banks is also not as beautiful as before.
"With a 2-day-1-night itinerary, visitors can visit most of the beautiful spots on the island. Our group chose to stay for 2 nights to leisurely enjoy the peaceful beauty of this place," Linh said.
"There is a very interesting experience at night on the island: squid fishing and catching crabs," Linh added.
The cost of transportation, accommodation, food and entertainment for Linh's group is 2.5 million VND/person.
Quan Lan has many fresh seafood dishes, including dishes with strange names that make tourists curious, such as sea worms, eggplants, and sea cucumbers.
Sandworms, also known as sea worms, earthworms, ginseng... live in abundance on the coasts of Quang Ninh. This is known as a royal specialty, an expensive "rich man's" specialty. 1kg of dried sandworms costs about 3-4 million VND.
The price of fresh sea worms after being cleaned of dirt and sand and having their intestines removed ranges from 500,000 to 800,000 VND/kg, depending on the time. This seafood is considered a precious medicine in Oriental medicine that helps cool the body and improve health.
This type of seafood is rich in nutrients but is also a food group that can easily cause allergies. Visitors may experience itching, uncomfortable hangovers or worse, difficulty breathing, nausea, stomachache, facial swelling...
If the condition worsens, tourists should seek medical attention at the tourist destination for timely examination and treatment. When eating strange seafood dishes, it is recommended that tourists try a little at a time.
