The forum was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, leaders of ministries and agencies, embassies, research institutes, universities, businesses, and domestic and foreign organizations.
The event attracted over 1,000 delegates, including leaders and senior technology experts from Google, Meta, NVIDIA, IBM, Intel, TSMC, MediaTek, Tokyo Electron, Panasonic, Marvell, and many businesses from Silicon Valley, the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, India, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Vietnam. The aim was to discuss development trends, opportunities, and challenges in the global semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industries, and to propose development directions for these technology fields in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the policy forum "Vietnam Proactively Develops Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Industries in the New Era".
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam stated that the forum was organized to affirm Vietnam's efforts to gradually participate in the innovation ecosystem and global value chain of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, two fields considered the "heart" of modern technology and the foundation for the digital economy.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam expressed his hope that partners and stakeholders in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence ecosystem, from leading technology corporations worldwide to research institutes, universities, investment funds, and domestic and international businesses, would cooperate more closely to move forward and make Vietnam an important link in the global semiconductor and artificial intelligence supply chain.
"The Ministry of Finance will synthesize the opinions of delegates and experts at the forum, coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to report and propose to the Government key tasks and solutions to promote these two strategic technology sectors in the coming period, creating significant contributions to help Vietnam achieve double-digit growth in the crucial development phase ahead," Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam said.

Experts and business leaders exchanged views at the forum.
At the forum, leading technology experts from around the world and within Vietnam offered important suggestions and proposals to help Vietnam gradually assert its position on the global technology map.
Christopher Nguyen, CEO and founder of AITOMATIC, shared insights on "The compatibility of Vietnam's semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry development trends with global trends"; analyzing key factors that help Vietnam leverage advanced technology platforms, thereby increasing its competitiveness internationally, while affirming that technological self-reliance is key to the strong development of Vietnam's digital economy.

Businesses showcased products and promoted collaborations in the semiconductor and AI fields.
Michael Kagan of NVIDIA and Suresh Venkatarayalu of Honeywell shared their insights on Vietnam's potential to become a hub for AI and semiconductor R&D, as well as the importance of expanding international cooperation to maximize technological advantages. These insights reflect global trends and serve as a call to action for Vietnamese businesses towards digital transformation and innovation.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Group, affirmed the readiness of Vietnamese businesses in technology transfer and building an innovation ecosystem.
Next, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Yen from SOITEC shared on the topic of "Advanced Microchip Packaging Technology," emphasizing that breakthroughs in current chip manufacturing processes are not only reshaping the global semiconductor industry but also opening up strategic opportunities for domestic businesses.

Within the framework of the event, the National Innovation Center and related partners announced initiatives for Vietnam to master semiconductor and artificial intelligence technologies; launched the Innovation Challenge 2025 program; and held a seminar titled "Proposing Solutions for Vietnam to Proactively Develop the Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Industry," creating a vibrant exchange space where experts jointly proposed innovative solutions and outlined a strategic development roadmap for the semiconductor and AI industries, contributing to making Vietnam a leading technology hub in the region.
Vietnam is currently one of the fastest-growing digital economies in Southeast Asia, possessing a strategic geopolitical position, a large and tech-savvy young workforce, and increasingly modern infrastructure, attracting more and more large global technology corporations, especially in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors.
Through this forum, Vietnam aims for a new position on the international stage, opening up opportunities for strategic cooperation, creating a solid foundation for digital transformation, grasping and mastering technology, and achieving rapid and sustainable development goals in the coming period. This is an important step for scientists and international partners to collaborate with Vietnamese partners to create a new era for Vietnam's digital economy.
