Compared to the same period last year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in the past 6 months has increased by 21%, proving the growing appeal of domestic destinations to foreign tourists. With 10.7 million arrivals, this number has increased by more than 26% compared to the same period in 2019 - the golden time of Vietnam tourism before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Compared to the target of 23 million international visitors in 2025, this figure has only reached 49%. However, experts are still optimistic that Vietnam's tourism will really accelerate in the last months of the year, when international visitors will flock to travel during the winter holidays.

Arrivals by air reached 9.1 million, accounting for 85.2% of international arrivals and up 22.7% over the same period last year; by road reached 1.4 million, accounting for 13.1% and up 10.9%; by sea reached 181.4 thousand, accounting for 1.7% and up 10%.
Russia is the market sending visitors with the highest growth rate at 259,849 arrivals, reaching 239.3% compared to the same period last year. The number of visitors from the Philippines also had high growth at 205.1% compared to the same period, reaching 217,633 arrivals. Some visitor markets recorded a slight decrease compared to the same period last year, such as South Korea, Taiwan (China), and the Czech Republic.
According to the General Statistics Office, revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at VND409,500 billion. Some impressive localities with revenue increases compared to the same period last year are Da Nang (18.5%), Ho Chi Minh City (16.9%), Hanoi (13%) and Hai Phong (12.5%).
