Vietnam records 82 new COVID-19 cases, nearly double the number on April 6

The Ministry of Health 's COVID-19 prevention bulletin on April 7 said there were 82 new cases of COVID-19, nearly double the number from yesterday.

COVID-19 situation in Vietnam

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 11,527,579 infections, ranking 13th out of 230 countries and territories, while with the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 121st out of 230 countries and territories (on average, there are 116,495 infections per 1 million people).

COVID-19 treatment situation

Number of patients recovered: Patients announced to be recovered on the day: 4 cases. Total number of cured cases: 10,615,032 cases.

The number of patients on oxygen is 4 cases; of which, oxygen breathing via mask: 3 cases, high flow oxygen breathing HFNC: 0 cases, non-invasive ventilation: 0 cases, invasive ventilation: 1 case and ECMO: 0 cases.

Number of deaths: April 6 recorded 0 deaths. Average number of deaths recorded in the past 7 days: 0 cases.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,186, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 230 territories, and the number of deaths per 1 million people ranks 141st out of 230 countries and territories in the world .

Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th/49 (ranked 3rd in ASEAN), deaths per 1 million people ranks 29th/49 countries and territories in Asia (ranked 5th in ASEAN).

COVID-19 vaccination status

On April 6, 2,276 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were injected.

Thus, the total number of vaccine doses injected is 266,012,248 doses; of which, the number of doses injected for people aged 18 and over is 223,448,108 doses: 70,907,317 doses for the first dose; 68,448,888 doses for the second dose; 14,370,083 doses for the supplementary dose; 52,007,498 doses for the first booster dose; 17,714,322 doses for the second booster dose.

The number of doses for children aged 12-17 is 23,964,814 doses: 1st dose is 9,130,472 doses; 2nd dose is 9,021,054 doses; 1st booster dose is 5,813,288 doses.

The number of doses for children aged 5-11 is 18,599,326 doses: 10,195,625 doses for the first dose; 8,403,701 doses for the second dose./.
