
On the afternoon of September 27, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, received Mr. Kubo Fumiaki, President of the Japan Defense University. Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam emphasized that in recent times, defense cooperation between the two countries has been continuously promoted, achieving important progress. Senior leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the army, and the Self-Defense Forces of the two countries regularly visit each other and meet on the sidelines of multilateral forums; cooperation between armies, service branches, human resource training, cyber security, overcoming the consequences of war, etc. have been paid attention to, promoted, and practically implemented. Cooperation in education and human resource training is a bright spot in the relationship between the two countries. Cooperation in education and human resource training in the field of defense has been paid attention to and promoted by leaders of the Ministry of National Defense of both sides. Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam sincerely thanked the Japanese Ministry of Defense for annually granting scholarships to the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense at the Japan Defense University. After returning home, Vietnamese students have applied the knowledge they learned, performed well in their assigned tasks, and become a bridge to promote the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan. Informing that the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense has a great need for training human resources at university and postgraduate levels, especially in high-tech fields such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, short-term training, research, etc., Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam asked Principal Kubo Fumiaki to pay attention and promote it. Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense always supports and creates conditions for academies and schools of the two countries' Ministries of Defense to increase exchanges, contacts, promote cooperation, and joint training in the coming time. Mr. Kubo Fumiaki thanked the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for taking the time to receive and create conditions for the delegation to work, exchange and meet with former Vietnamese students studying in Japan at the Military Technical Academy, thereby seeing the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries in the field of training. Mr. Kubo Fumiaki informed Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam about the results of the delegation's work with the Military Technical Academy; emphasizing that the two sides had discussed and agreed to report to their superiors on future forms of cooperation; including continuing to promote the training of Vietnamese students studying abroad at the Japan Defense University.
