Vietnam calls on all relevant parties to respect international law and the United Nations Charter, including the principle of respecting the sovereignty of states, and to refrain from the use of force and the threat of force in international relations.
Vietnam calls on all parties to exercise restraint, engage in dialogue, and resolve disputes and disagreements on the basis of international law, contributing to ensuring peace, security, stability, and cooperation in the region and around the world .
On January 3, US President Donald Trump announced the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Prior to this, the US military had raided numerous military bases in Caracas and several provinces of Venezuela. Before Trump announced Maduro's arrest, the Venezuelan leader had declared a state of emergency nationwide.
At the press conference, the US President stated: "We will govern Venezuela until we can conduct a safe, appropriate, and prudent transition. Washington will decide when to return control to Venezuela."
