Journalism and media training is currently facing many opportunities and challenges. The development of information society is an inevitable trend of modern society with the formation of a new generation of public.
On September 25, in Beijing, China, representatives from nearly 20 Chinese universities and academies and 9 Vietnamese universities and academies attended the Vietnam-China Higher Education Dialogue Forum on Journalism and Media organized by the Communication University of China.
Delegates attending the forum discussed in depth issues such as training journalism and media talents, academic exchange cooperation and promoting humanistic exchanges between the two countries.
According to the VNA correspondent in Beijing, speaking at the opening session of the Dialogue Forum, Ms. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, emphasized that journalism and communication training is currently facing many opportunities and challenges, and that the development of an information society is an inevitable trend of modern society with the formation of a new generation of publics - the digital generation publics.
Therefore, Ms. Huong believes that journalism training institutions must strive to transform their thinking, methods, and training approaches to supplement human resources such as young journalists with formal, systematic, multi-skilled training, who can meet the requirements of the multi-platform, multimedia journalism technology industry.
At the Dialogue Forum, Vietnamese and Chinese universities and academies agreed to continue organizing the Dialogue Forum at an appropriate time, continue to implement exchanges and dialogues, diversify and flexibly form sustainable cooperation.
In addition, schools and academies of the two countries will also study diversifying joint training forms and carry out exchanges of scholars and lecturers between the two sides.
In an interview with VNA reporters, Mr. Hoang Dien Lam, Secretary General of the Institute of International Media Studies at the Communication University of China, affirmed that this event is an opportunity for the two sides to exchange and understand each other better, thereby enhancing cooperation in the fields of human resource training, scientific research, and promoting exchanges between lecturers and students of the two countries./.
