The annual meeting was originally scheduled for June 20, but Vietnam Airlines has just postponed it and has not yet set a date.
Vietnam Airlines Corporation said it needs more time to prepare for the congress. The company will finalize the list of shareholders attending the annual meeting on July 11.
However, the official meeting date has not been set yet. Vietnam Airlines only plans to hold the shareholders' meeting before August 30.
According to the Enterprise Law, the annual general meeting of shareholders must take place within 4 months from the end of the fiscal year. However, unless otherwise provided in the company charter, the Board of Directors may decide to extend this meeting if necessary, but not more than 6 months from the end of the fiscal year.
Among the documents required for the annual meeting, the airline has yet to release its audited financial statements for 2022. This is also the basis for the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) to consider listing Vietnam Airlines' HVN shares.
In February, HoSE warned that HVN shares could be delisted if the parent company's after-tax profit or Vietnam Airlines' equity turned negative. By the end of April, the code was on warning status due to being 15 days late in announcing its 2022 audited financial statements.
According to an independent report, by the end of last year, the accumulated profit of shareholders of Vietnam Airlines' parent company was negative by approximately VND32,000 billion. The company's equity was negative by more than VND10,000 billion.
