Vietnam Airlines officially launched the first direct flight connecting Hanoi with Milan (Italy), bringing the total number of direct flights of the airline to Europe to 9.

The grand opening ceremony at Milan Malpensa Airport was held with the presence of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and representatives of the Lombardy regional government. The event marked an important step in Vietnam Airlines’ strategy to expand its international network and affirm its role as an aviation bridge between Vietnam and Europe, while also marking a historic milestone when it was the first time a direct flight was launched between Vietnam and Italy.

The Hanoi - Milan route will use Boeing 787 aircraft, with a frequency of 3 round trips per week, with a flight time of nearly 12 hours per leg. Milan is the second largest economic center of Italy and an important gateway to the Southwest Europe region. This city will act as a strategic gateway in Vietnam Airlines' flight network, helping passengers conveniently access destinations across Europe.
