VinaPhone was the only representative from Vietnam to receive the "Best 5G Network Award in Vietnam and SEA" from Ookla – a leading global telecommunications speed testing organization – at the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC 2026) event, held in Barcelona, Spain.

According to VinaPhone, Ookla's "Best 5G Network" award is based on the "Speedtest Connectivity Score" – a comprehensive measure of users' 5G mobile network experience. This score is composed of three main criteria: Speed Score (overall speed and responsiveness, accounting for 50% of the total score), Web Browsing (website access and loading performance, accounting for 25%), and Video Streaming (quality and smoothness when watching online videos, accounting for 25%). Ookla applies a measurement and evaluation method based on real-world usage scenarios, through millions of tests from users in Vietnam, reflecting customers' daily experiences.
VinaPhone's "Speedtest Connectivity Score" reached 83.60, a significant difference compared to the other two 5G carriers in Vietnam. Notably, VinaPhone's Speed Score alone was outstanding at 75.48 points, 8% higher than the next-ranked carrier, thus not only affirming its position as the fastest (Fastest 5G) carrier but also contributing to VinaPhone being honored as the best 5G carrier in Vietnam.
VinaPhone's 5G network quality has also been recognized at the regional and international levels, surpassing many "giants" such as Singtel (Singapore), Unifi (Malaysia), AIS (Thailand)... to be honored as "Best 5G Network Southeast Asia" - the best 5G network in Southeast Asia for two consecutive Q3 and Q4 of 2025.
According to market surveys, over 70% of mobile data traffic is currently focused on video, social media, and digital content platforms. With speeds 10-15 times faster than 4G, and potentially exceeding 1 Gbps under optimal conditions, VinaPhone 5G offers a superior mobile internet experience, especially for bandwidth-intensive services such as high-resolution video, online entertainment, and remote work.
To achieve this result, VNPT Group has implemented a comprehensive set of technical solutions and optimized the network right from the planning and development phase of the VinaPhone 5G network. Instead of focusing solely on "quantity" such as the number of base stations, coverage area, and access speed, VNPT prioritizes the quality of customer experience, implementing wireless network planning based on modern traffic forecasting models and analyzing user density in each area to select optimal base station locations in terms of coverage, capacity, and long-term scalability.
During deployment, each 5G base station undergoes multi-layer testing with realistic usage scenarios such as high-density data access, livestreaming, gaming, and high-resolution video transmission. The system is monitored in real time through core and radio network KPI analysis tools, allowing for continuous optimization of parameters such as transmit power, MIMO configuration, beamforming, and radio resource allocation to ensure consistent performance across areas. This enables real-time, area-specific network configuration adjustments, rather than just optimizing the entire system at an average level.
This effort clearly demonstrates VNPT's "Go Global" strategy, aiming to integrate its digital products, services, and solutions more deeply into the global value chain. With its modern digital infrastructure and practical implementation capabilities, VNPT continues to affirm its position as a leading technology group in Vietnam, a reliable partner in large-scale projects, and ready to accompany businesses and organizations in the region and internationally on their digital transformation journey.
