Vingroup will complete the world's Top 10 Exhibition Center in just 10.5 months

Expected to complete the main exhibition hall after only 10 months, and the entire project after 10.5 months, the Vietnam National Exposition Center - Top 10 in the world is not only a "new wonder" of the Capital to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day but also breaks all records in the construction field, affirming the prestige and outstanding implementation capacity of Vingroup .

On May 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and inspected the construction progress of the National Exhibition Center project - where the Exhibition of achievements in building, protecting and developing the country will take place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Prime Minister acknowledged and praised the efforts of Vingroup Corporation in implementing the Prime Minister's instructions during his visit and working session in October 2024 on shortening the construction time and assessed "Vingroup's speed as Thanh Giong".

The Vietnam Exposition Center (VNEC) is located in Dong Anh district, Hanoi, with a scale of more than 90 hectares, with an indoor exhibition area after phase II reaching 304,000m2, ranking in the Top 10 in the world . The project was started on August 30, 2024, and is identified as a new symbol of prosperity, as well as a key project of the Capital to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The project is currently in its final stages of completion and is expected to be completed in July 2025, as committed by Vingroup - only 10.5 months after construction, compared to the original plan of 2 years. The photo shows the project site in October 2024 (2 months after construction began) and the present time.

Currently, the steel construction and load testing have been completed. The investor said that the construction time was lightning fast but every detail was very careful. 100% of the screws were tightened and checked a second time and no errors in force were detected.

To complete the massive structure of the National Exhibition Center, an estimated 24,000 tons of steel were installed. The entire steel structure frame is designed with a safety factor twice as high as the standard, to ensure absolute durability and safety in long-term operation.

The architectural highlight is the Kim Quy Exhibition House, inspired by the image of the Kim Quy God in the legend of building Co Loa citadel. The outer diameter of the building is about 360m, the dome is over 56m high. All exhibition halls in the Kim Quy House can be connected into an open space with a total exhibition area of ​​up to 94,000m2, when completed it will be the second largest interconnected exhibition space in the world.

The fiberglass roofing is expected to be completed by June 10. This is a lightweight yet super durable material that is translucent. This design meets the green architecture and energy-saving standards of global projects.

The main exhibition hall will be completed on June 30, after exactly 10 months of construction, ready to serve the staging of the Exhibition of Achievements in Building, Protecting and Developing the Country, held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day. With 120,000m2 of indoor exhibition space and 20.6ha of outdoor exhibition space, this will be the largest exhibition in the history of the Vietnamese exhibition industry.

The Convention Center and the Permanent Exhibition Center are expected to be completed by July 15. These are two of the important auxiliary items of the project, with specialized functions, ensuring in-depth response to different needs.

Also in early July, VNEC will be technically inaugurated, ready to host large-scale events and art performances. Under the Prime Minister's direction, the National Exhibition Center will be officially inaugurated on August 19, along with the groundbreaking and inauguration of a series of key projects and works across the country to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Auxiliary items such as fountains, green landscapes, roads, etc. around the exhibition area have been basically completed.

The National Exhibition Center is located at the northeastern gateway of Hanoi, just 15 minutes from Noi Bai International Airport, 5 minutes from Hoan Kiem and Tay Ho districts via Tu Lien Bridge - which was just started on May 19, and is expected to be completed in 24 months. Once completed, it will become a destination and highlight in terms of architecture and fine arts, capable of hosting regional and international political, economic, cultural and entertainment events, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position on the world map.

With a lightning-fast construction time of only 10.5 months, the National Exhibition and Fair Center will set a new world record for the construction progress of a national exhibition project. With this unprecedented record, VNEC has become a new mark affirming Vingroup's reputation, outstanding potential and strong implementation capacity in the construction of infrastructure projects.
