In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates and local leaders reviewed the tradition of steadfast and indomitable struggle of the Vietnamese people through the periods of resistance wars for national liberation, national reunification, construction and defense of the Fatherland. Thereby, expressing deep gratitude for the great contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

According to statistics, Vinh Hau commune has 700 people confirmed as people with revolutionary contributions. Implementing the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", the locality has had many practical activities, such as: Visiting, giving gifts on holidays and Tet, building and repairing houses and timely paying regimes and policies according to regulations with an annual amount of over 3 billion VND.

Representing the typical revolutionary contributors in Vinh Hau commune, Mr. Vu Phu Cuong (4/4 war invalid) said that under the leadership of the Party Committee of the commune, the people's lives, including families with meritorious services, have become increasingly stable and developed. The work of caring for families with meritorious services, repaying gratitude... has been well implemented. Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Vinh Hau Commune People's Committee Tran Thanh Son emphasized: The Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Hau Commune always identify taking care of meritorious people and policy families as an important political task, a sacred responsibility and also a great honor. The whole commune currently has over 700 policy beneficiaries and meritorious people enjoying preferential regimes of the Party and State. Among them, many families have overcome difficulties, risen up to stabilize their lives, and actively contributed to the development and building of cultural life in the locality.

In the coming time, the Commune People's Committee will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize all people to actively participate in the "Repaying gratitude" movement with practical and effective actions. Fully and promptly implement policies on subsidies, preferential allowances, housing, health insurance, nursing, education , etc. for people with merit and their relatives. The Commune People's Committee will continue to recommend the central ministries and branches to supplement and adjust policies in accordance with reality, striving to raise the living standards of households with merit to be equal to or higher than the average living standards in the locality where they reside...
