At the beginning of this year, at the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" organized by Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, the Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, Do Duc Hung, participated in planting casuarina trees with a large number of staff and workers of the unit in the coal storage area and the coastal grounds of the plant in Vinh Hao commune. Mr. Do Duc Hung shared with the workers: “Each tree planted today will become a resilient ‘lung,’ helping to regulate the climate, block wind, prevent dust, and create a green, clean, and beautiful working space for us. Hundreds of casuarina trees were nurtured and watered by the electricians that day, helping them take root and sprout in the dry, windy land of Vinh Hao. The tree planting campaign launched by Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has contributed effectively to the implementation of EVN's nationwide project to plant 1 million trees.”
In addition, Mr. Tran Ngoc Huong, Deputy Director and Chairman of the Trade Union of Vinh Tan 4, said: “The tree planting movement at Vinh Tan 4 in recent years has truly gone into depth with 3 core principles: planting trees with awareness, turning tree planting into the 'breath' of EVN culture; caring for trees with responsibility, so that each young tree can take root and grow tall in the barren land; spreading with belief, each employee plants at least one tree, creating a wave of emulation throughout the unit.”
Thanks to these efforts, the rows of green trees that have been and are continuing to grow on the arid land surrounding the power plant are a vivid testament to the determination of the electricians. These lush, sturdy trees, planted with the hands and hearts of the power industry workers, not only beautify the plant's landscape, making it greener, cleaner, and more beautiful, but also symbolize the will to transform into a green environment and sustainably develop production while protecting the environment. To date, the plant has planted over 26,000 trees and flowers, and 1,000 m² of ornamental grass, covering over 50 hectares of its grounds, primarily with drought-resistant plant species.
“By participating in the annual tree planting campaign around the large area of the power plant, we have conveyed a strong message about the green living spirit and environmental responsibility of the plant's staff and workers. Protecting the environment is not only a responsibility but also a mission for each individual and each enterprise. Even though we are a thermal power plant, we are always aware of the importance of minimizing environmental impact and constantly strive for sustainable development,” Mr. Tran Ngoc Huong further shared.
In June 2026, in response to a series of environmental protection events such as World Environment Day, World Ocean Day, the Month of Action for the Environment, and Vietnam's Sea and Islands Week, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant will coordinate with the local Youth Union to clean up waste along the coastline of Vinh Phuc village, combined with giving social welfare gifts to disadvantaged people in Vinh Hao commune. The unit will also organize the creation of a video titled "Joining Hands for a Green Environment at Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant" and many practical activities to raise environmental awareness among all employees of the plant.
