On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, after opening, continuing yesterday's downward trend, selling pressure dominated, causing the index representing the floor to fall close to the 1,300 point mark.

However, after falling to the above level, bottom-fishing demand increased, helping the market rise again, at times "jumping" nearly 10 points, up above 1,320 points.

At the end of morning trading hours, VN-Index temporarily stopped at 1,318.3 points, up 7.73 points.

In the afternoon session, at one point the VN-Index increased by nearly 13 points, but then demand decreased while the support of large stocks slowed down, causing the increase to narrow.

At the end of the session, VN-Index increased by 5.66 points (0.43%), to 1,316.23 points; VN30-Index reached 1,404.82 points after "increasing" by 8.26 points (0.59%).

Increasing stocks dominated with 162 stocks going up and 135 stocks going down. In the VN30 group, the number of stocks increasing and decreasing in price were 14 and 9 respectively.

If yesterday's session, VHM was the code that took away the most points from the market, today it became the strongest support code when it increased by 2.965%, contributing 1.85 points.

The industry groups that increased in points were slightly higher than those that decreased. In the rising groups, hardware, household and personal appliances, consumer goods and decoration, and telecommunications performed positively with increases of over 2%.

On the contrary, the semiconductor industry decreased the most with a rate of 2.48%.

Market liquidity continued to be low with nearly VND18,500 billion successfully traded. Foreign investors were net sellers. This group bought more than VND1,626 billion and sold more than VND1,964 billion.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the total transaction value reached more than VND1,250 billion. At the end of the session, the HNX-Index was at 226.4 points after decreasing by 0.09 points (-0.04%); the HNX30-Index decreased by 2.35 points (-0.5%), to 463.8 points.
