VNPT establishes a company specializing in AI, promoting an AI-first strategy.

VNPT has developed more than 100 specialized artificial intelligence (AI) models, processed over 2 billion requests, served approximately 40 million people, and partnered with more than 200 businesses and numerous government agencies nationwide.

On December 18th, within the framework of the conference to implement the 2026 plan, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) officially launched VNPT AI Company. This is an important milestone, demonstrating VNPT's strategic determination to focus resources on developing AI, one of the key technology areas identified by the Party and State in many major policies.

The establishment of VNPT AI takes place in the context of an increasingly完善 (perfected) policy system and legal framework for AI, notably Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; Decision No. 127/QD-TTg on the National Strategy for Research, Development and Application of AI until 2030; and especially the Artificial Intelligence Law recently passed by the National Assembly on December 10, 2025.

Over the past years, VNPT has invested systematically in technological capabilities, including a large data infrastructure with a capacity of 20 petabytes, the ability to process nearly 20 terabytes of data per day, along with a product ecosystem and high-performance computing infrastructure on a scale of hundreds of petaflops, which is continuously expanding. These will be key conditions for VNPT AI to develop large-scale AI models, meeting the requirements for deployment at the national level.

VNPT AI aims to become a major AI product brand within the national AI ecosystem, contributing to the formation of "Make in Vietnam" AI platforms serving the Vietnamese government, people, and businesses, based on technological self-reliance, ensuring digital sovereignty , and enhancing national competitiveness in the AI ​​era.

Alongside its infrastructure, VNPT AI currently boasts over 200 AI and data science experts and engineers, all professionally trained at reputable institutions both domestically and internationally, and honed through practical problem-solving. This team contributes to bringing VNPT's AI technology closer to international standards, while ensuring its suitability to Vietnam's specific conditions and needs. It will also help VNPT AI fulfill its mission in implementing VNPT's AI strategy.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNPT General Director Huynh Quang Liem emphasized that the establishment of VNPT AI demonstrates VNPT Group's determination to focus its AI capabilities to serve the transformation direction towards a 'Data Driven, AI-first' model, while contributing to ensuring digital sovereignty and reducing dependence on external technology platforms in key areas. Seven years ago, with its strategic vision, VNPT pioneered and proactively invested heavily in the field of AI. The Innovation Center, a unit under VNPT IT, was established and entrusted by the Group with the responsibility of paving the way for this journey.

After seven years of persistent innovation, VNPT's AI has achieved concrete results. This is Vietnam's first AI platform, serving billions of transactions and providing AI products to tens of millions of citizens, businesses, banks, and government agencies at all levels, such as the iKYC platform, virtual assistant systems, and chatbots supporting various administrative procedures. VNPT has also gradually affirmed its scientific and technological research capabilities at international forums and awards, while bringing internationally-standard solutions to the market.

“VNPT AI must strive to take the lead in researching and developing AI technologies; mastering scientific works and AI models that embody Vietnamese intelligence, thereby affirming the scientific and technological capabilities of Vietnam in general and VNPT in particular. VNPT will be the launching pad for VNPT AI to develop steadily in the domestic market and gradually expand internationally,” Mr. Huynh Quang Liem emphasized.
