Accordingly, the decision to sell the broadcasting rights of the 32nd SEA Games was announced in July 2022, after a meeting in Cambodia chaired by the Executive Committee of the SEA Games Council, with the participation of representatives of sports delegations in the Southeast Asian region. This is a new point and a difference in the issue of broadcasting rights of the SEA Games compared to previous SEA Games (the host country does not sell but only collects a certain amount of money called a transmission fee).

According to the contract signed with VTVCab, the Cambodian SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) appointed On Media as the official representative to distribute broadcasting copyrights for the 32nd SEA Games content on all television, media, press and social network platforms within the territory of Vietnam.

VTVcab is currently the leading unit in broadcasting copyright and producing sports content, and is also the unit that always accompanies Vietnamese sports in many major events such as SEA Games, ASIAD. VTVcab has become the first unit in Vietnam to own the broadcasting copyright of SEA Games 32. When obtaining the television copyright, VTVCab will participate in producing content for a number of competitions as well as supporting the production of sideline content of SEA Games 32.

A representative of the Cambodian Olympic Committee said that in the coming time, many television units from countries in the region will participate in negotiations to buy the television copyright for the 32nd SEA Games with the Organizing Committee.

The 32nd SEA Games with the slogan "Sports: Living in Peace " will take place in the capital Phnom Penh and 4 other localities in May 2023. Accordingly, the 32nd SEA Games will have 49 sports with 608 events, considered the most in the history of the Southeast Asian Games so far. However, among the 49 events, there are not many events in the Olympic competition system and are Vietnam's strengths such as shooting, archery, rowing, canoeing...
