Vu An Commune Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative cooperates with a company to purchase soybeans and vegetables for members.

For many years, rice has not appeared in the fields of Vu An commune, instead, two main crops are soybeans, vegetables and peanuts. The elderly farmers who are still attached to the fields now no longer have to plow but have become an important link in the production chain between cooperatives, enterprises and farmers. Mr. Pham Van Lam, An Vinh village said: My wife and I are both old, our income depends on a few fields, but growing rice does not bring much profit. The cooperative signed contracts with companies and enterprises, bringing new crops with high economic efficiency into production, so we are very confident and confident in converting a rice crop to growing other crops. This spring crop, I planted more than 1 sao of vegetable soybeans. After only 70 days, the plants were harvested with an expected yield of over 2 quintals of fruit/sao. The selling price was 8,700 VND/kg, 200 VND/kg higher than last spring crop. After deducting costs, the profit was over 1 million VND/sao.

This spring crop is the first crop that Toan Cau Food Import-Export Joint Stock Company ( Bac Giang province) signed a contract to produce and consume vegetable soybeans with Vu An Commune Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative. Mr. Le Van Luu, Raw Material Department, Toan Cau Food Import-Export Joint Stock Company said: The company coordinated with the Cooperative to organize technical training, and at the same time sent staff to monitor and guide farmers in planting, caring for, preventing and controlling pests and diseases for crops; at the same time, provided seeds in the form of deferred payment to people. As an export product, the requirements for quality and food safety are high, but through monitoring and evaluation, farmers in Vu An commune complied well with the Company's techniques and requirements. It is expected that in Vu An, we will purchase about 30 tons of vegetable soybeans.

Considered one of the leading cooperatives in linking and consuming agricultural products, Vu An Commune Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative has actively sought markets, linked with agricultural processing and consumption enterprises such as ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company, Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company, Nguyen Duc Cuong Trading Company Limited... At the same time, step by step, build large-scale concentrated production areas according to safe farming processes combined with product consumption such as vegetable soybeans, peanuts, melons, potatoes... Thereby helping farmers connect and consume about 50 hectares of crops each year. This spring crop, the cooperative built an export soybean growing area with an area of 20 hectares, 30 hectares of peanut seed production linked with ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company, 35 hectares of melons linked with Nguyen Duc Cuong Trading Company Limited.

Mr. Nguyen Quang The, Director of Vu An Commune Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative, said: Thanks to the flexible and effective implementation of input and output support services, the cooperative has brought direct benefits to members in each production season. Along with that, to create cohesion among members, the cooperative has developed a plan to arrange the production area of vegetables according to the seasonal calendar and market demand orientation. In addition, the cooperative also seeks and links with reputable enterprises and agricultural product purchasing units to implement commodity crops suitable for the soil and production level of local people. At the same time, it signs contracts with enterprises to purchase agricultural products for farmers. Thanks to the good performance in linking product consumption and service stages, the cooperative has contributed to increasing the production value per hectare of production in the commune, the production value of the crop sector reaching 29 - 33 billion VND/year, of which the winter crop production alone reaches over 10 billion VND/year.

The province has over 250 cooperatives participating in one or more stages in the production chains, linking the consumption of key agricultural products, mainly rice. The vegetable production chain is not numerous and is easily broken. Developing with the goal of supporting members and farmers in consuming agricultural products, in recent times, the Vu An Commune Agricultural Service Production and Trading Cooperative has contributed to creating a strong change in the awareness of the collective economic development model of cooperative members in particular and farmers in neighboring areas in general. At the same time, it has created prestige with businesses inside and outside the province about opportunities for cooperation and development with cooperatives, affirming its key role in the process of restructuring agricultural production in the area.
