Dak Lak Shooting: Who is the ringleader? How many people are involved?

More than 50 people who caused the shooting in Dak Lak listened to the instigation of reactionaries.

According to the initial statements of the arrested subjects, they listened to the instigation of the reactionaries who promised that after carrying out the attack on the commune People's Committee headquarters, they would be given money, taken abroad, and given a more comfortable life...

Previously, from June 3 to 6, the subjects were called by Y Som (residing in Dak Lak, identified as the leader) to lure them to gather in Cu Kuin district so that someone could take them abroad.

When living abroad, each person will be provided with 100 million VND and someone will take care of their "happier, better" life.

From June 6 to June 10, more than 50 people from many different localities such as Cu M'gar, Krong Buk, Ea Hleo, Buon Ho town... (Dak Lak province) and some from Phu Thien district, Krong Pa... ( Gia Lai province) gathered at a hut in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.

Some of the perpetrators have been arrested.

After gathering here, the group organized a meal and at around 1:00 a.m. on June 11, they divided into two groups carrying guns, knives, petrol bombs, grenades... that had been prepared in advance, and simultaneously attacked the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes.

The number of weapons used by the group to commit the crime was seized.

At the places they attacked, windows and main doors at the two headquarters of the People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes were smashed, and many documents were burned.

More seriously, they stormed the commune police headquarters located in the commune People's Committee compound; shot and killed 4 officers and soldiers; and seriously wounded 3 other officers and soldiers who were on duty at the office.

Many documents and items at the warehouse of the Ea Tur Commune Militia and Self-Defense Force were burned.

Not stopping there, after withdrawing from the commune People's Committee headquarters, on the way they blocked the car of the Chairman of the Ea Tieu Commune People's Committee and the Secretary of the Ea Ktur Commune Party Committee (who were on their way to the headquarters after receiving news of the disturbance) and killed these two people.

They then continued to block two cars of people traveling on the road and killed them. After committing the crime, the group split up to escape but were arrested one by one.

The Special Police Force - Ministry of Public Security deployed a plan to capture the subjects.

As of the afternoon of June 13, the authorities have arrested 45 subjects; they are still continuing to search and arrest the remaining subjects for strict handling according to the provisions of the law.

Dak Lak province calls on people to actively participate in the movement "All people protect national security"

Regarding the incident of using guns to attack the Headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes (including the working area of the Commune Police) in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province, on June 12, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province issued a letter calling on compatriots, comrades, and soldiers in the province to unite and trust in the Party's guidelines and policies, the leadership of Party committees, and the administration of authorities at all levels.

The appeal letter stated: On the morning of June 11, 2023, in Cu Kuin district, a group of armed individuals attacked the police headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, causing casualties to a number of commune police officers, commune officials and residents. The people of all ethnic groups in the province were very angry about the law-breaking behavior of this group of individuals.

Immediately after the incident, under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Dak Lak province, along with the active support of the people in Cu Kuin district, the authorities urgently arrested the subjects and are resolutely pursuing the remaining subjects to strictly handle them according to the provisions of the law. The local Party Committee and authorities have deployed measures to stabilize the situation, promptly visit and support the families of the deceased and injured; notify and encourage people to stay calm, not panic, and follow the instructions of the authorities.

The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee strongly condemn the acts of attacking state agencies, killing people, and seriously violating the law committed by the group of subjects; at the same time, we would like to share the pain and great loss of the families of the police officers, officials, and people.

The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province call on the people, comrades, and soldiers in the province to unite, believe in the Party's guidelines and policies, the leadership of Party committees, and the administration of authorities at all levels; actively participate in the movement "All people protect national security", promote the strength of the all-people national defense posture associated with solid people's security; coordinate and support functional forces in performing their duties; join hands to help and share the loss and pain with the families of police officers, cadres, and people who were victims; work and produce with peace of mind, contributing to the stability and development of the locality.

Citizens, comrades and soldiers should not post or share unverified information on social networks that could affect the performance of duties by functional forces and cause panic and anxiety among the people; heighten vigilance, absolutely “do not listen to, do not believe, do not follow” reactionary elements and hostile forces that take advantage of the situation to distort and incite opposition to local authorities, causing political insecurity in the area.
