British media have confirmed that MU plans to add a new "number 9" in the summer of 2025. RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has been linked with a move to MU. However, the deal seems unlikely to happen.
According to The Athletic , Sesko is not a serious target for the "Red Devils". The cost of recruiting this striker (high transfer fee and large salary) is said to be not suitable for MU's budget, after the two deals of Cunha and Mbeumo cost up to 133.5 million pounds.
So any big spending in the near future will depend on player sales, with United expected to save almost £16m in wages when Marcus Rashford moves to Barcelona on loan.
Juventus are ready to pay £21m for Jadon Sancho, but have yet to make an official move. The futures of Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are also unclear.
Meanwhile, Leipzig are demanding a fee of up to £87m to part with Sesko this summer. The Slovenian striker scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga last season - a figure that does not match Leipzig's desired price. Therefore, MU will aim for another target.
United could focus on Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta. The French striker has scored 27 Premier League goals since February last year. The deal is expected to cost around £40m.
