On September 6, SGGP Newspaper reporters recorded that Quy Nhon City's electricity and clean water agencies had resolved the electricity and water problems for thousands of households affected by the landslide (about 4,400 households lost electricity; nearly 300 households lost water).
At the scene, the investor and specialized units of Quy Nhon City are mobilizing dozens of vehicles and human resources to dump crushed stone to fill the landslide holes. Some vehicles are using large rocks to fill in and mix with crushed stone to fix the landslide holes.

The report of the Department of Construction of Binh Dinh province also shows that the Phu Tai Central Life apartment project is built on the old Viet Rang warehouse land (Quang Trung ward, Quy Nhon city) with an area of over 1,270m2 , the total underground construction floor area is 5,840m2 ... The project is invested by Phu Tai Real Estate Company Limited.
Controversy over cause of incident
In the report sent by the Department of Construction of Binh Dinh province to the People's Committee of this province, there was no mention of the cause of the subsidence and landslide on Hoang Van Thu street. However, before that, there was much conflicting information about the cause of the landslide from the opinions of the representative of the Department of Construction and the investor of the Phu Tai Central Life apartment building.
Initially, the Department of Construction of Binh Dinh province determined that the indirect cause of the landslide was the construction of the apartment building. |
Responding to the press on September 5, Mr. Tran Viet Bao, Director of the Department of Construction of Binh Dinh province, informed that through inspection, the functional unit found that the indirect cause of the landslide was due to the construction of the basement, foundation and surrounding wall of the apartment building not being guaranteed, and not calculating and anticipating incidents of land subsidence during heavy rains and floods. Therefore, when the basement was not yet completed, heavy rain occurred, causing the drainage and water supply pipes to break, leading to the collapse of the entire corridor of Hoang Van Thu street.

However, also on the afternoon of September 5, answering reporters of SGGP Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Director of Phu Tai Real Estate Company Limited, denied that this unit was at fault for causing the land subsidence. “We are also victims in this incident. Due to heavy rain, the sidewalk sewer on Hoang Van Thu Street broke, causing a landslide that flooded our project,” said Mr. Tuan.
On the other hand, Mr. Tuan said that the Department of Construction has an inspection agency that will investigate and conclude the case according to their functions. "We do not object to the information provided by the government or functional agencies," Mr. Tuan said.
