It is Singapore, where people live longer and healthier lives and the man who coined the term “blue zone” is Mr. Dan Buettner.
There are five “green zones” in the world : Ikaria (Greece), Okinawa (Japan), Nicoya (Costa Rica), Sardinia (Italy) and Loma Linda (USA). However, Mr. Dan Buettner has included Singapore in a new list, called “green zone 2.0”. The original green zones were selected for their natural environment, while green zones 2.0 are man-made.
Buettner and his team identified nine core elements that represent the habits of the world's longest-lived and healthiest people: natural movement in daily life; having a purpose in life; maintaining habits to reduce stress; only eating until 80% full; eating more plants; consuming alcohol moderately and regularly; being active in the community; maintaining close relationships with relatives; living around people with healthy habits. In response to these elements, Singaporeans often walk because their travel mainly relies on public transport such as buses and trains; the Lion Island is at the forefront of popularizing healthy food; promoting programs to reduce the rate of smokers, such as imposing high taxes on this item...
