Source'Empty Gardens and Empty Houses' - Campaign to protect the Vietnamese people's bases
In the resistance war to regain independence for the country, "Scorched earth resistance" was a very important task, contributing to the victory of the Viet Minh forces in the autumn and winter of 1947. In Thai Nguyen, the slogan "Empty gardens, empty houses" was not only a call but also a symbol of deep patriotism. People did not hesitate to demolish their houses, destroy bridges and roads, all just to prevent the enemy's advance and evacuate agencies, open roads to remote areas to ensure the safety of the headquarters of the resistance. Every action, every effort of theirs reflected the people's sacrifice and unceasing determination, causing the Special Envoy of the Indochina High Commissioner not only to not be able to deny, but also to exclaim two words of "shock" and "admiration" before the spirit of solidarity and steadfastness in the fight for freedom and national sovereignty . Those are the bright images of the early days of the resistance war, the boundless pride of every Vietnamese person.
